+1, Ortiz is the perfect example of a fighter who mostly just uses his jab to set up other punches. It's far from stiff. Typical southpaw jab

Hatton won no more than one round in that fight at best. It was hattons ability to close the distance that gave pbf problems at first. But when he adjusted he beat Hatton at his own game broke him down and made him dance with the ring post. It was an underrated clinic if anything.:deal

My observations were that Hatton was pressuring early and was troubling Mayweather who resorted to ducking below the waist line and Joe Cortez wouldn't let Hatton fight his style. from that moment in r6 Cortez took the game plan out of Hatton for the 5 rounds previous and he tried to go for the big punch. Mayweather cried like a baby afterwards maybe he was thankful for something. my view on American refs like Cortez have changed because of that and other fights.

Joe Cortez summed up-stops Hatton from inside fighting (some say spoilng) but allows Bernard Hopkins to get away with exactly that and more vs Calzaghe?

There's tired and there's tired. One thing Ricky never lacked was stamina. He could pressure fight for 12 full rounds. Not the slickest of boxers but stamina wise he was **** hot.

No need to care the ref won't be hitting him in the face every time he misses.

Hatton made it an interesting fight because he was controlling ( or Mayweather allowed him to control which ever one) the pace of the fight. Mayweather was hitting him cleaner more then he was hitting Maythweather and by the 6 rd Mayweather was in cruise control. Tagging him with the jab to the body and feints then over hand rights to the head at will. So the only way Hatton won 5rds was if you gave him the first 5rds. Even if you had the fight 3-2 after 5 rds Hatton didn't win anything from rd 6 to the knock out.

The only thing that made Hatton look like he was in the fight was the pace of the fight which was in his favor.

I agree. I had a lot of money on FMJ, and wasnt at all concerned after the 2nd round.
He was able to do nothing to Floyd, and you could count and effective punches he had on one hand.
I cant see how this fight could be considered anything than thoroughly one sided.
