Kess may have the ability to beat Joe but he needs to execute his plan without a mistake.

Problem is Joe can change is game plan and did against Kess and I thought Joe won the fight by 4 or 6 points.

Dont know about Joe looking like he was going to be stopped as Kess landed some big shots and Joe kept punching through them.

All cred goes to Joe.....with honourable mention to Kess.

As does many of the other comments that came from his mouth after that fight.

He kept saying that if only 2 of the judges (like only 2 out of 3 isn't many :nut) would have scored 2 of Joe's rounds in Kessler's favour, then Kessler would have kept his belts.

Does he realise that if the same happened during the Kess/Mundine fight, then it'd be a draw as well, yet was always quick to spin to the general forum that Kessler dominated all bar 30 seconds of that fight. :nut

    I miss my mate deram.

He's definitely posted it in the general forum, whether it was before or after everyones posts got deleted last year I'm not sure, but anyone that knows deram probably shouldn't doubt me on this. :yep

indeed. it got personal and heated and they really disliked each other. reid also had the one thing that joe is very weak to, a big overhand right as well as a good straight right. the key was that he leads with it, unlike kessler who needs the jab as a range finder to get it off. when joe neutralised kessler's jab he was in deep trouble. reid was just getting shots off at will during periods of their fight.

reid is criminally underrated, one of my favourite fighters.

Reid def is very underrated as a fighter.

You know who else has a very sneaky right hand :yep

Mr Bhop, he backs up backs up pauses, moves left then right then boom a lead right in ya melon and then he has you in a clinch holding u with one arm while bashing you with the other.

He may be old but this crafty old man will make it an awful night for Joe. Bhop is 10 and zero against Southpaws.

I think the difference was hand speed and body movement. Kessler was hurt by the body shot in the 5th (I don't remember him being hurt in the 8th), so, all in all, I don't think Joe''s power really was a factor. Kessler's downfall really was his inexperience and his inability to adapt as fast as Joe was doing.

The problem that I envisage for Hopkins (in a potential BH-JC Matchup) is that he wouldnt be allowed the time to get his shots off as Calzaghe would be constantly outpunching him with his faster combinations

granted, Hopkins can time his opponents

The only thing I see troubling JC is the refereeing if the fight is in the states (and it probably will be).

JC's rarely fought outside the UK, and hasn't fought in the US. If the referee allows the crowd to dictate proceedings somewhat, then it'll probably be a bit tougher for JC, otherwise, I see JC stopping him late.

Yeah, I still see calzaghe winning, but just not as cofortablyif those thngs come into effect.

Hopkins was a great fighter though, and it's a credit to him that he can score such a fight that will be one of the most anticipated of 08, at his age. But he gets beaten by Calzaghe.

I agree. Calzaghe is so darn adaptable. He'll figure out a way to counter BHops dirty tactics.
