    Man, even though Jones prime may have been coming to an end, he was awesome in this fight. Just toying with a very solid Light Heavyweight in Woods. This is actually the only fight in Woods career that isnt competitive. It was funny to see Woods mimic Jones showboating. I like Woods, I wish him the best in his retirement. I'm convinced that if Roy retired 49-1 after beating Tarver, he would have been remembered as on of the top 10 greatest fighters ever.

    I think if Roy hadn't been DQ'd in that fight, he would of had a handsome 50-0 record. That's when he should of called it a day.

    I've never had such an "I wish it went different" story since Roy Jones.

    You're thinking of anther fight kid. He was only DQ'd once in his career and it wasn't against Clinton Woods.

    What? No, I know. I'm saying he hadn't been DQ'd against Griffin there would've been no reason for a rematch, probably woulda fought someone else and would've been 50-0.

    Hard to say but I'm inclined to agree. Roy was a very specail fighter with talents unmatched.

    That DQ loss was never treated as loss to boxing fans, just like Golota's DQ losses to Bowe werent.

    Until the Tarver fight, he never lost at the hands of another fighter. And nobody ever came close to beating him really. Hopkins made a good effort, but Roy was just too good in his prime. Griffins "win" over Roy meant nothing, except maybe to Griffin.

    it was painful to watch the way he picked Woods apart.

    at least Woods never lost his sense of humour with his little Ali shuffle!

    Hes still in the top 10 for me. You don't look at the tail end of a persons career and claim it ruins everything they did, you look at their prime and what they accomplished in their peak.

    I think in the current generation only Manny Pacquiao is set to surpass Roy Jones Jr's legacy. If Manny Pacquiao wins another title he will be in the top 10 ahead of Roy Jones Jr.

    woods was a good solid fighter, but didn't travel well.before and during the jones fight, woods was found to have an iron defiiciency that weakened him.once he got this looked at, he went on the most successful run in his career, winning a world title and beating some of the best around.then came the tarver fight (who he should of beat) in america.this confirmed that woods wasn't comfortable when traveling.tarver had his way in the whole fight as woods put on the poorest performance of his career.this was basiclly the end of the road for woods.he had one more big fight in america against cloud and gave a good account of himself.but was beaten by the younger man.

    all in all, he was a decent fighter who went further than his talent should of allowed him.

    :lol::rofl

    I can't believe people still give Calzaghe heat for never fighting Glen Johnson. Johnson is a journeyman plodder with a catalogue of defeats, including to Omar Sheikah, who the Italian Dragon decimated within 5 rounds of boxing brilliance. :bush:freddy:gun:beat:dance:bat1
