........I imagined Loma winning every single round.

Then I turned the sound back on, opened my eyes and played it back at normal speed, and my guy still lost to Lopez (115-113)

Lol I love Loma, he's my favorite current boxer, I put money on him saturday night, I've been watching him since he was an amateur, I used to watch his fights in the dressing room before I had to compete but the guy lost fair and square. People act as if making a guy hesitant to throw isn't part of the game, it's clear that Loma respected Teo's power way too much. Lopez landed the harder shots, more shots, he countered Loma, he landed more body shots and I while I don't like Bradley as a commentator, he made a big point, everytime Loma tried to step around Lopez, Lopez pivoted, I have tried that same move in sparring and more talented guys just pivot with me and nullify it.

Loma is a great fighter but he isn't unbeatable and he didn't invent **** in terms of footwork or technique, Lopez was better than he expected at every aspect and at world level boxing, size matters, he isn't a natural lightweight. People put excuses for a guy with two olympic golds, countless titles and hundreds of fights and ignore the fact that Teo did what he did as a 23 year old with a single title match under his belt.

great post, agree with everything...even the way youre handling your favorites loss. shows a healthy level of maturity.
what you pointed out in the pivots, is the reason i believe mikey would work loma and ko him. mikeys footwork is the best in the business when it comes to holding ground through half steps and pivots. plus, he has the best 1-2 in boxing, which would freeze lomas advances the way teos jab did

All that fancy footwork doesn't work when the opponent can move and turn with you. Lopez, wasn't old, a plodder, or much smaller.

Lightweight Floyd would have abused Lomachenko.

He has great footwork, there's a reason why he accomplished so much but Lopez won the US Olympic Trials and lost a close fight against the eventual silver medalist at the olympics, this is not the first time he faces a southpaw and yeah, Floyd is a bad match up for Lomachenko.

Just like Pretty Boy Floyd became Money Mayweather, The Matrix is gonna turn into Doctor Strange and fix the timeline.
