Rewatched Machida-Rua without sound. Not nearly the robbery I thought it was.

This is the dumbest bull**** myth perpetuated in the history of fighting; it has never been true, it's not true now, and it never will be true.

It is simply an excuse for stupid lazy judges; winning a title fight is exactly the same as any other fight.

 

Well, they did this quite a bit during the Ali and Holmes years... They both had unbelievably close decisions, especially Holmes. Thus the term was coined

 

At clashes between the two, a left punch from Machida on Rua's face and a counter kick by Rua on Machida's body... I was surprise Rogan always comment about how the kick hurt... I :huh scratched my head and thought it was the punch that did the most damage on some if not more.

The point is it's NOT a robbery people.

 

Unfortunately it's been around longer than that; it is still just flat out incorrect, the only thing that saying applies to is what happens with a draw, unless you win the fight the champ keeps his belt. What it does not mean and has not ever meant is that the fight is scored, in absolutely any tiny minute way, differently. The rules for scorig remain 100% exactly the same for both fighters, absolutely, every time.
