Fear happens before a fight...not during. Cotto, if anything, was incredibly frustrated. Nothing is more frustrating in boxing than when you're either giving it your all and it means nothing to the other fighter or not being able to catch your opponent with anything serious...It's absolutely ****ING ANNOYING! :fire:(

The nightmare occurs AFTER the fight...you begin to duobt yourself...but during the fight, I'm sure he was too pre-occupied with trying to find another way to not only survive, but win.

I didn't say he experienced "fear" during the fight. But actually, he did. Which is why he took the knee :deal

That's ignorant if you seriously believe he took a knee because he was scared.

Cotto wakes up in the middle of the night in cold sweat asking himself what went wrong.all joking aside I rewatched the. fight again last night and Cotto was busting Margo up until he get rocked with huge uppercuts in the second half of the fight.

Fear caused him to take a knee. What else would've. Even if you think it was the right thing to do, he still did it out of fear. Why take undue and unnecessary punishment? Well why wouldn't you, because you "fear" you can permanently get hurt.
So many "Johnny Tough Guys" are so "afraid" to admit their "afraid", that they treat "fear" as something horrible and demoralizing. I don't blame him, but saying fear played no part is the ignorant stance. If you'd like to test brain waves with me go right ahead, explain to me why he took the knee and how "fear" had NOTHING to do with it :good Good luck :deal

I have watched that fight I think twice in the last month, I thought when I saw the fight live that the fight changed in Margaritos favor around the 6th round, However what I will say is that the rounds in which Cotto did win, look at the shots that Margarito got in, Sure Cotto got off clean combonations and won those rounds.

BUT, in those rounds he did win, Margarito got his work in, the more effective work in, the vicious body shots, it almost makes my ****ing ribs hurt watching Tony load up with them wide shots and score to the body. he did this each and every round, and that is what broke Miguel Cotto, it will break Shane Mosley, the last time shane was in there with a man who was gunning for him the way Margarito will was in his first fight with Forrest, and you saw the body work Forrest was able to get it.

I think Shane is going to have a game plan but wont be able to get it done, every fighter on that level has a game plan going in, weather or not it will work will only be known on fight night.

And we all know Mosley tends to get lured out of his strategy easily.

You are stuck in an outsider perspective...you've never picked up a pair yourself and had to fight in front of those you love. Especially your kids. How many father's avoid altercations when they are with their kids? I guess if anything, Cotto was afraid of losing face in front of his family. It's just different. Who knows why he took a knee...the fight was simply lost for him.
