Rewatched Mayweather-Maidana, Maidana fought a hell of a fight!

Good post. I've scored it 7 5 either way and a draw. Should be a sick rematch.

Unlike other guys in the past with Floyd, Maidana showed Floyd ZERO respect which made this a hell of a fight. Floyd was confused and I think the lack of respect hurt his feelings

I expect more fireworks in the rematch but I also feel Floyd knows what to expect from Maidana:think

Maidana fought his ass off. However, his success in that fight has been overrated. Punches to the back of the head, the back, below the waist, as well as blocked and partially blocked shots are not scoring blows. Takedowns and Muy Thai style knees are also not scoring blows. I thought it was a rough fight that Mayweather clearly won.

 

I had it 9 to 3 for Mayweather. You don't win fights by landing body shots and roughin a fighter up.

I would be content with a 10 to 2 card honestly.

 

Agree completely. Maidana came to fight and did his best, but it's pretty obvious who won the fight in terms of clean punches, power shots, defense, etc... I think ref stops the fight this time from Mayweather accuracy proving to be the difference

 

even with all of his cheating and fouling...he still failed to land any significant blows. the rematch won't be much different.

 

Chino won the fight; first 5 rounds the 8th and the 12th. Floyd did not do enough to take Chinos belt. It was a BS decision.

 

What he was doing in the first fight was the perfect strategy to trouble a slick, special and elusive fighter. What he needs to do in the rematch is keep the pressure up all the way. That's definitely inhuman to ask of him but that's the only way he can keep Mayweather troubled and never allow him to feel comfortable in there. Whenever Mayweather is left comfortable he will literally within seconds adapt to the situation and start to take over the fight.

People that blame Maidana's stamina seem to overlook the fact that he threw 900 punches in the first fight, there's no way in hell he will be able to throw more than that in the rematch. What he could hope for his hurting Mayweather, knocking him down or knocking him out.

 

Maidana prolly didnt win because of the excessive wasted time he used being dirty.....not saying abandon the whole thing but he has to put more quality work in rather then being dirty.

 

Can't put more quality work in there and succeed against Mayweather. He has to be dirty and rough to be in the fight otherwise he's going to allow Mayweather to relax and eventually outclass him.
