Speed was the key in this fight. Winky is quick and southpaw and Shane could not adjust. And Mayweather is not southpaw but quicker than Winky. Mosley has to fight an unorthodox fight to beat Mayweather. It will be hard for him.
No doubt it will be a difficult fight for both of them. But neither has a size advantage over the other. That's the key. Mayweather will box and move as can Shane. But I think they'll both have to trade shots. Neither of them can control the other with a jab in the way Wright could. A good big man usually beats a really good little man. That was the case in the Wright/Mosley fight. Too much size difference.
bro, like five times u have said the same thing about winky's size advantage over shane and how it has very little resemblence to floyds attributes. The other posters are so dumb they just dont get it. it must be frustrating for you.
i think two good points were made about this fight: winky's jab and mosley's inability to adapt. winky, or any fighter, can dictate the pace of a mosley fight with the jab (forrest (rip), cotto). mosley can power box. that's it. he can't pot shot, he can't box for extended periods off the back foot, he can't jab his opponent to death or frankly jab at all. he's neglected his body work for years prior to margarito. i love mosley but wright was a whole lot of things that tripped him up. thankfully, mayweather ain't wright
atsch Winky won largely because he was not only able to box but walk Mosley down and overpower him while sticking the jab in his face, furthermore Mosley was faster than Wink in both fights.
What can any WW do against a Prime Winky who is not only a Master Boxer but a natural MW as well? Mayweather talked mad **** about fighting Wink, than when Wink responded he came up with a shitload of unrealistic demands and excuses, so I don't even know why this fight was brought up.
mosley might have lost the ODLH 2 fight, but he actually won the fight on his body punching. It might not always be apparent on TV but it was apparent to the judges. Body shots are subtle they wear u down, a trained eye is able to see that. Mosley hit collazo with a body head attack. body was not neglected. Mosley lost to cotto bc he tried to brawl when cotto boxed. His bodywork however was not neglected in the fight, if u recall late in the fight cotto started to get tired. There was one round i think it was 8 or so when shane pinned cotto on the ropes and starte drilling cotto's body. The body attack is what kept shane in the fight. Amount of punches landed were equal but shane got caught a few times with his chin up by clean obvous shots. Shane vs mayorga was just plane awkward. MY POINT IS: SHANE NEVER NEGLECTED THE BODY!
agreed. the best moment mosley had was when winky wanted to make some fans and create excitement so he let mosley tee the **** off on him otherwise, close but clear wright
What would happen if Mosley rushed in like Hatton did and just beat the crap out of Mayweather each round? Unlike Hatton Mayweather cannot knock Mosley out so Mosley can take Mayweathers best punches on the way in and land his best punches. The winner of this fight will be whoever throws the most punches.
