true, he hasn't neglected it entirely but look at the body destroyer he was at 135 and even times at 147...he stopped the dedicated and consistent body attack at 154. both wright fights he barely went after the body. the collazo fight was a good example where he went back to it but i disagree with cotto: he was still head hunting for large portions of that fight.
fair enuff, mosley was going for broke with his right hands in the cotto fight overall, shane just looked like pure garbage in that fight. What can u say, the guy had a bad night. But back to the point on the body punching, at 154 he fought vargas, oscar and winky wright.......... when he lost he lost, but when he won, did he really neglect the body? which fights are you really referring to? If you are speaking on comparative basis to 135, then i would have to agree that his dedicated body attack dropped off when he moved up in weight, but this has lot to do with that the fact is harder for Shane to stand in front of bigger guys to bomb away at the body compared to lightweights. at higher weights he has to try to set them up.
Wright was way to big for mosley. In the first fight mosley was coming down from balco products. The 2nd fight was alot closer.
Shane wanted to quit in the first fight his dad spent lots of time convincing him to stay in the fight I remember his dad telling him few times "no to do it" he took a beating that night.
Someone's said it already: Mayweather is and fights nothing like Wright. Floyd's jab isn't as good as Winky's, he isn't a southpaw, he's nowhere near as big and strong and his workrate isn't in the same league. And from what I remember, Shane did a better job second time around. He just fought a challenge against a guy who he didn't hold all the stylistic advantages. Haven't see Mayweather do that.
Indeed, though he doesn't get credit for losing the fight, it takes big cajones to take on Wright when your that much smaller.
