So many people thinking they know boxing just because they watch every boxing match there is.. Reading most of the comments here shows many of boxing fans today really have no idea.. starting from scoring a fight and seeing for what's really happening to effectiveness of punches etc. The so call experts and professionals on TV or pay per view don't help either... They will side with the favorite most of the time unless he is taking a real beating.. Lomachenko's only chance against Teofimo was and will be fighting the same fight next time.. By stopping and trade punches instead of running he could either knock Teo out or get knocked out... Loma was able to avoid getting hit by Teo's hard punches but he definitely could not take this kid's punch... Teo is far from perfect and has a lot to learn but no doubt about his punching power.

Lomo lost. Lopez looks like he could be a really good fighter. How much Lomo's injured shoulder factored into the loss hard to say. I think Lomo lost by 2 rounds, but with a healthy should would have made up that gap and passed it.

Break it down round-by-round or punch stats arent really relevant to judge the whole of a fight

Lopez won a close fight or a draw at worst, However the scorecards were a joke.

Lopez won easily. Whoever thinks Loma won does not know boxing.

Just to say I've watched this fight for a fourth time and it's clear as day many in the RBR know f all how to score fights.

I created a thread a while back and no one was able to explain to me how Lopez won 2 and 6 hitting elbows and air (including certain "body shots" and uppercuts/right hands that did not land) . I time stamped all punches landed and still no one was able to refute it. Loma landed the better punches in terms of quantity and quality in rounds 2 and 6. Loma won rounds 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.

Rounds 3, 4 and 5, if you actually watch carefully in terms of actual landed punches you can certainly argue for Loma. You can't just give a round to someone because he's following a guy round swinging and missing.

People say Loma for rounds 1 to 7 was doing nothing.. And that is partly true given his usual volume, but Lopez was landing f all and just following him around the ring.

Loma had one arm and outweighed by 15-20 lbs and yet still deserved a victory. It's also very telling Lopez is actively seeking to avoid a rematch despite it being the biggest money at the weight. Loma with two arms no mas this weight bully hypejob

The Mayweather who was in essence dropped by 40 yo Mosley and Judah. The guy that had to cling to dear life after getting tagged by Hatton and then the ref had to give him a break. He was also saved by the bell against Maidana

Loma is one of the only boxers who's actually proving himself by fighting far above his natural weight class...hypejobs like Floyd stick to cherrypicking, card stacking and playing it safe

Cherrypicking + card stacking = not confident you can win on fair playing ground = not a risk taker = ***** hypejob

I'm not saying he wasn't clearly skilled because he was but I can't just ignore the blatant card stacking and cherrypicking

Whoever thinks Lopez won easily does not know boxing.

So you are next fan who thinks that he is damn kind of smart guy.

While I had scored this fight for Lopez, my card was more close than yelling in internet forums.

If Lopez really had won easily, he now had hyped up rematch vs Loma and had already this fight scheduled and after this took Kambosos fight.

    Fans are amazing.

I watched it late on when it was live. Watched it again there, wide awake and no real breaks between rounds, wasn't really listening to the commentators. No doubt that Lopez won, way ahead here. The 119-109 didn't even sound that scandalous, unlike some other dodgy wide cards.

Loma did run rings around him but he threw hardly nothing for the first few rounds whilst doing so.. whereas Lopez was trying to push the action .. Loma showed him too much respect , which is understandable if you are not jacked to the eyeballs like Canelo & fighting a guy that's basically a WW whilst basically being a SFW.. Loma is also inactive & injury plagued these days so I suspect he's less prone to being offensive minded too.. it is what it is.. he's 33 now, he's probably HOF already & he just came up against a very strong fighter with explosive power who was noticeably much bigger than him on fight night .. & that whole event & build up was geared towards the new kid on the block Lopez too.. I think Lopez deserved the win but it wasn't wide as some like to make out.. it was fairly close.. Loma was working him in the second half.. anyway, Loma should fight his last couple of years out at SFW imo
