Rewatched the fight without US commentators, yes loma was robbed (again)

Even by your own standards, there's a perfectly reasonable case to be made for a 116-112 Lopez card, as very few judges do even rounds.

This posts further highlights why it's so weird to see so many people working so hard to create controversy on a result that so few people find controversial. One of the scores was wide, but very few people are unhappy with the actual result.

Never do even rounds. NEVER. This is a basic rule that needs to be respected when scoring. That's why I hate to score and I never score fights (this one was an exception), because sometimes it is so hard that I cannot enjoy the fight. At least it happens to me. And I watch boxing to enjoy it.

BTW, this one was freaking easy to score. 116-112, EASY. No hard round to score unless emotionally involved or at ringside (you cant see the whole ring).

 

I could see one, MAYBE two rounds flipping, so a draw would be the absolute most generous result for Loma and 117-111 the most generous result for Teo. It's a pretty tight result range overall, and two of the judges got the right score and all three got the right result.

No controversy.

That's what I thought when I watched it again sunday morning.

 

I can honestly see a 116-112 Loma win, but I can't see the fight as a "robbery." Lopez fought a damn good fight and deserves respect. No one was robbed, except by the 119-109 judge. It was a close fight that could have gone either way or been a draw (my score).

 

If it keeps them off suicide watch, let them live in their own fantasy world. Fact is that all that fancy footwork that they raved about against flat footed plodders and smaller men, didn't work when he faced a guy his size, who was young, athletic, and could move as well.

I watch most fights on mute, to start with. Best way to watch so you don't get the home cooking spin.

Lopez won, it was no draw or robbery.

Loma just did not turn up for first half of the fight.

 

Lopez won and even when Loma turned it up Lopez answered back . I had it 8 to 4 at best. Loma is a gritty Mofo he took some nasty shots in the 12th.
