The fight should have been stopped in the 9th round. After that, it was just Vargas getting his ass handed to him.
Good post and yes it was a great fight... just want to comment on a few things. lets remember that vargas got his brain scrambled in the first minute... there is no way he could have fought his best after not just suffering flash knockdowns, but actual brain ****ing punches. Just because he DID get up and put up a good performance, i dont think it should be held too much against him that his actual boxing wasnt as good as in other fights, considering in his other fights (well... his whole life) hed never started off with his skull getting caved in. That first left hook was one of the best punches ive ever seen landed... im sure he wouldnt have looked the same in his fights with campas, winky, ike or marquez had he started off like that eather. The low blows.... i agree arent responsible for the outcome, but low blows have more effect on the fight then just hindering legs. Think about it... thats 3 times where the whole IN FIGHT momentum (ya vargas may have regained it, but its not IN FIGHT) that was stopped for vargas. He was having one of his best rounds.... low blow... he dropped tito, then was following up.... low blow.... ect, it takes the whole ability to capatalize on situations away. Judah didnt effect mayweather with his low blow as much as provide his way to survive. Tito was a beast... and i think its because at 154 he has that speed.. that speed that gives his punches that 'it' factor. Instead of just being heavy punches... like they are at 160 and above.... they are special. Everything on tito is just about underated. Sorry.... but if your not just all around special your not beating whit, oscar, vargas, reid,
All time great fight, these men beat the hell outta each other . . .Tito even cried at the end cause it was by far his hardest fight to that point. . . and he was the winner!
A young kid knocked down twice in the first minute of a fight with a boxing legend.... but through sheer will, spirit, and skill.... fights his way back in the fight. Showing the soul of what boxing truly means to me... showing who you are inside, being able to fight through the adversity against overwelming odds.... and using slight, subtle moves (that he rarely gets credit for doing when he was young) to dodge punches, turn his opponents, or fire off combos. In the end.... showing that boxing is unforgiving, to even the bravest of warriors... and that you pay a price higher then any other athletes for crossing that point of no return that only boxing has.
