Rewatched Trinidad vs Vargas

Apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree apparently! My buddy who was on the All Navy Boxing Team actually fought Oscar and Mosley in the Ams years back. He was Fernando’s sparring partner about a year or so be he fought Oscar. He said Fernando was obsessed with knowing what he did better than Oscar. He asked my buddy “Do I hit harder than Oscar?” and he was honest and said no. Lol! Fernando broke two of his ribs the next spar lol

 

I was actually at Trinidad VS Tobago LIVE when ALL HELL broke Luce! Even better than this one.

 

Oscar fought good fighters I notice he seemed to fight shopworn versions of the fighters Trinidad fought. Always after Tito knocked them out or beat them. Example would be Hector Camacho, Oba Carr, Fernando Vargas, Ricardo Mayorga.

 

I wanted him to face Winky Wright

 

I think you are making it sound more than it is as if Oscar was doing it intentionally
Tito was a WW champion for nearly 4 years before Oscar was.
Oscar was still fighting in lower weight divisions when Tito was a WW champion and consequently moved up before Oscar but when they were both at WW it was Oscar that fought Quartey, and Whittaker when he was a champion
Tito faced an older version of Whittaker if you look at it that way and that was when both were WWs

 

Would have been a big fight
I wonder if the natural weight difference would have made it difficult for Oscar
It's funny because Winky was boxing and respected in the UK for a fair while before people knew of him when he faced Vargas.
Same thing with Sergio Mora

 

What a shame that Trinidad never faced Ike Quartey, that would have been a terrific fight!
