Granted some of those Rounds were very close and I can accept any score with a solid argument between 8-4 for Canelo, 7-5 Golovkin and 6-6.

You have to have some special bias if you give the first fight to Canelo. You'd have to be looking for every possible excuse to give him rounds and ignore everything Golovkin did unless it was 110% obvious

After that first match, GGG was the one who looked like he was just in a car crash, not Canelo.

GGG's post-fight facial damage is very relevant to the RBR, because it supports the fact that that Canelo was inflicting more damage and punishment. So when we talk about more impactful punches, and more effective punches, the results of that can be seen on GGG's face after the match. Now, facial damage doesn't score itself, but it does support and provide justification for Canelo winning some of those rounds that you thought he lost, while being outworked and outlanded, but landing the best punches of the round.

To understand Byrd's score, we have to recognize the impact of Canelo's punches on GGG, and how those big shots may have affected her view of the rounds. Particularly rounds 8 and 9, rounds that Canelo was clearly outworked but landed absolute bombs in those rounds, punches that stunned GGG so much it probably caused a good amount of that bruising on GGG's face. Now, sitting at ringside, Byrd must have felt those bombs reverberate when they landed, and those big punches in round 8 and 9 were so perfectly placed and powerful that, well they were better than anything GGG landed in those rounds by a mile. So even while being outlanded, those punches stood out and were so good in her mind that it caused her to score those rounds for Canelo. You wanted to understand why she gave those kinds of rounds to Canelo. Well that's most likely why.

It is evidence of Canelo inflicting more damage, which is a product of clean effective punching, high impact punching and a lack of defense, which are part of the scoring criteria.

It's pretty obvious if you look at the post-fight photos. GGG looked like he had been in a car crash 2X. Swelling above both eyes, bruising all over his face. There was very little bruising on Canelo's face in comparison. GGG clearly received more punishment.
