Ha ha ha Irony alert ha ha "The Fool on the Hill" ha ha ah dear take him away , I'll need a respirator with all this laughing...
Well, we are lucky that Shadow isn't a fan boy or we might have been wading through triple the tripe....
Being a fan of a fighter doesn't make someone a fanboy. A fanboy is someone who is emotionally invested in a fighter, who wears his fandom on his sleeve, which causes someone to be unable to reason with.
You know what was funny, when luf said I woulda cried robbery if Lara or GGG woulda got the decision. That's pure comedy, I nearly fell outta my chair lol.
Just because I have a Golovkin night light and his manly face projected as a screensaver on my bedroom wall doesn't mean I am a fanboy ... as you well know. I have always admired the tattoo of Canelo's face on your face, and your 'eau-de-canelo' body spray. But you might want to get rid of your Canelo toilet paper.
Nonsense. I don't go to sleep with a recording of Canelo's heartbeat playing on loop through headphones like you do. Now that's fanboy status
Neither do I. That would just be weird. You're the one with a GGG night light. You clearly have a GGG man crush.
So like you try to reason with someone that a round is close, and back pedalling whilst being jabbed and shipping a left hook isn't showing good defence nor ring generalship, and they get emotionally invested, and tell you you're wrong, like that? Anyways you've said yourself, a Golovkin decision would have been fine. You would have been perfectly OK had Golovkin been announced the winner. I'm glad this thread has helped you to realise that. I'm glad I watched it again, the fight was better than I remembered. And i feel more excited for the third fight now.
Well I don't have a problem with you saying it was a close round, I get that you found it hard to score, I was just explaning why it was hard to score for you, and easier to score for me. It's not unreasonable to say it was a close round, but to score it to GGG based on the last 30 second, that's what I disagreed with. But I didn't get emotional about it, I just calmly explained why you shouldn't decide rounds by aggressor bias, but rather by punch effectiveness and the other criteria, defense, ring generalship and effective aggression. It's not effective aggression if you're unable to land punches. If you wanna talk about being emotionally invested, look no further to those who cried robbery when GGG didn't get the decision. I mean it's one thing to be emotionally invested in outcomes, but what we seen from GGG fans goes far beyond normal emotion, it's gotten pathological with some of these GGG fanboys, to a point where you can't reason with them. Look at Q74 as an example, clearly the dude is one fry short of a happy meal. I mean look at how emotional and triggered he gets. He believes conspiracies like all Canelo fights are fixes, he believes that Canelo isn't P4P #1 material. He literally said "anyone who thinks Canelo is P4p no. 1 is void of any intelligence and integrity". Now I have an important question for you to illustrate my point. Who do you consider the #1 P4P fighter in the sport? Don't you think it's quite extreme and emo to claim that "anyone who thinks Canelo is P4p no. 1 is void of any intelligence"? And he's not joking, he really is that emotionally invested, a bonefide unmitigated Canelo hater, to take to that extreme. So when we talk about being emotionally invested and losing all track of reality, that's what we're talking about when we talk about fanboys. I keep it very consistent, don't get emotionally invested and just discuss what happened rationally. I'm a fan of watching Canelo fight, but I'm not emotionally invested if he wins like these GGG fans. If you can't see the difference between a spastic like Q74 who thinks that all Canelo fights are fixes and he's not P4P material vs me who calmly breaks downs rounds and discusses scoring intelligently I don't know what to tell you. There's a clear difference between emotional outbursts of irrationality and reasoned solid round scoring logic. Well I wouldn't say a GGG decision would have been "fine", I don't think performed well enough to win, and I don't think he deserved it. Canelo out performed him, but if GGG got the decision I certainly wouldn't have carried on like a mad man and cried about it every day screaming robbery like the GGG fans did. That's just immature and fanboy emotional stuff. I would have explained why I disagreed as I'm doing here, but in a calm reasoned way. And another thing, I wouldn't back down from RBR debates like Q74 did. If I believed there was an injustice in a decision, then I would be motivated to make my case and explain why, I would want to discuss it in as much detail as possible, rather than insult people who see it differently and run away from detailed discussions over rounds like many GGG fans have done. It suggests that GGG fans don't want to deabt rounds because they know they can't defend their arguments that they won, as evidenced here in this very topic. But that said, I'm happy you did this topic, and the fact that the fight was better than you remembered is evidence that it needed another look. I can't wait for a 3rd fight.
For the first 2:30 there was nothing in it. The last 30 seconds favoured Golovkin, hence my scoring. Any time you deviate from the topic it becomes emotional, any time you try to condescend or patronise it becomes emotional. Any time you bring up other posters it's emotional. P4P right now I think Ring Mag has a good enough list, but I personally think Usyk is the best in the world. You can see the path to a Golovkin victory though and you think the result would be acceptable. That's my point.
