Due to a disgraceful stoppage. If the fight plays out like then Groves is going to land on Froch all night long which will be enough. Not a chance Froch or his trainer are hoping to see a repeat of the first fight. This. Styles make fights and skills wise Groves has more than Froch. I can see Froch trying to use his jab and win early rounds like he did v Kessler in the 2nd fight but dont think it will work so then what? I can see Froch chasing due to frustration and getting nailed with hard counters.
Froch's "best" work was him slapping George in the crude manner we've come to expect whilst George has a high guard and deflects nearly all of his work. Froch should have been deducted at least two points and hopefully not having a bent ref will ensure none of his rabbit punching goes on.
I really hope GG does come out for an all out war. Will be a great fight if he does but it won't last long. But knowing the mind games stuff, I think GG is not going to do that
The scoring wasn't even close and plus the KD, makes you wonder if judges actually watched the fight or just small parts of each round while thinking about strimming the hedge at the weekend.
I have read a few people saying that that Groves needs to conserve energy for the later rounds problem is if his punche output is low. Is that playing into Carl's hands? I think groves has to walk a fine line between tthrowing punches to keep Carl honest and keeping something In the tank and the only time hea done that is a razor thin win over de gale. I think if froch hasn't got old we might be on for a similar result. Groves. Dominating early but as he tires froch can pour it on. Can't wait
I dont think froch was under prepared physically but mentally I think he went into that fight all wrong I think he thought he could walk thro anything and chop thro groves early he came unstuck and had to slug it out. The stoppage was a disgrace but I dont think groves would have got thro another 3 rounds I may be wrong no one will ever know. I think froch will go into this fight different start pretty slow and fight in small bursts particualry to the body in early rnds. keeping his range better coz he knows he can be hurt and by mid rounds start picking it up and throwing alot more to the head my money is going froch 9th again. I beliece we seen the worse froch last time and he found a way like it or not he has a W next to his name and I dont think many things could have gone more wrong he wont make the same mistakes again
I had given Froch two rounds including the stoppage round. I can't remember which ones. But, Froch was coming on strong. Yes the stoppage was much to premature, but there where 3 rounds left to go. We just don't know how the rest of the fight would have gone. Don't assume Groves was going to win it.
There's a clear trend going on isn't there. Their confidence, like their redheaded hero's, is starting to show hairline cracks. The bravado's diminishing as we edge nearer towards fight night. Reality bites. :hey
I didn't rescore the fight when I watched it again. I just know that it wasn't as close as I originally scored it on fight night. Groves was certainly more than 1 round ahead, as I had it.
Yes the ginger's fanboys are becoming less bullish by the day. Running scared. Carl is in full on beast mode and georgie's outburst today was whistllng in the graveyard. In one week's time, when he's become a boxing also ran, he'll wonder why he pushed for the rematch. He'll have nowhere to go except a Paul Smith rematch at York Hall. The boy simply isn't very good.
