Wow. GSP truly dominated fitch he looked like a rabbit in headlights! Looking at this video it seems (to me) like Fitch doesn't like pressure being put on him. He's happy when there's equal balance or he's the aggressor but when the tables are turned he looks vulnerable. Taking his wrestling aside for a moment do you hink Penn could box and apply ample pressure on fitch to upset his rythm and gameplan?
I see this fight going two ways; Penn will be too fast for Fitch, or Fitch will be too big for Penn. If Penn can get this fight to resemble his first fight with GSP, I think his Penn's hand speed and accuracy will play a big role in setting up a finish. If Fitch can put Penn against the fence, the way Florian was able to early in his fight with Penn, I think Fitch will drag him down and put on a dominant performance.
That was my 1st thought when I read the opening post. Obviously I think Fitch will have more joy with the takedowns too. BJ's got to make it as hard as possible and wear Fitch out then try to strike. BUT, we all know who's got the better cardio of the two With regards to the OP I agree that pressure is the way to go. But BJ is gonna have to mix it up with kicks and knees as well as his boxing to get that desired effect imo. He just didnt know what GSP was gonna throw at him next and he's lucky kitchen sinks weren't allowed in the cage It will be BJ's best win by a mile if he can pull this off convincingly
Guys like Fitch show how damn good GSP is. There are guys who would be champion if GSP wasn't around - Fitch, Koscheck, maybe Penn or Alves in the right match up, even Shields!
