    They were......

But weren't thrown in a controlled fashion, just wild bombs.

A guy like Khan, with aims of becoming a world champion, ought to have thought more about what to do in the event of an instant attack.

There is more to becoming an elite fighter than beating a selection of shot/smaller guys - you need to be able to deal with different kinds of opposition.

to be fair its complete basics, the very first defensive move you learn, keep the right touching the cheeckbone if your fighting a left hooker, especially one who had had a **** load of 1st round ko's.
i hope he has learn't fromit,i would like to see him do well.

if i am honest though,he looks overly fragile to me.

I think he will be damaged goods mentally as well.

He cannot FIGHT for toffee - he can box all day long, but someone putting pressure on him and having a high workrate (Limond classic example) is kryptonite for him.

But for the ref he would have lost that one, nobody would be any the wiser about the big punching Prescott.

The sheer lack of defence was the problem. As said, they were big big shots that finished him, but it's the fact that Prescott was allowed to land them all so early in the fight that was the problem.

It just seemed so naive and avoidable. He has undoubtedly got a bit of a weak chin but that shouldn't have been an issue so early on.

I'd like to see him take a few fights in America, get a proper grounding but the cash cow that he's become to FW and Sky wont allow that so it's back to the big venues and the yes men for the young prospect. 20 fight deal? what a ****ing joke.

Let's not kid ourselves here. Most of Khan's over hyping has come out of his own mouth. He was arrogant enough to think he was one of the world's elite fighters, and that he would walk through Prescott like he was nothing.

The reality of it is that Khan has been operating at a far lower level than he has been led to believe. Frank Warren claimed beating Graham Earl made Khan the top lightweight in Britain, and Khan (and half of ESB) believed him.

Get real folks, Khan's punch resistance might not be good enough to get him the British title, let alone Euro level. World class isn't even on the horizon.

He was wobbled by a jab. You can watch the replays as many times as needed, give the punch a new name, whatever. He was wobbled by a jab.

Warren certainly knew what he was doing, putting him in with Earl.

He must have known that the Katsidis fight ruined him.....

There is NOTHING to suggest those shots would have KOd any other lightweight or most other lightweights.
Would the cuffing, short left hook from Gomez have dropped most other lightweights? No. Alex Arthur ate about 10 flush, full hooks from Gomez before going down for the first time.

Would the three rights from Limmond have put most lightweights down and nearly out? No.

Would the nothing short hook from none puncher Craig Watson have badly hurt and dropped most lightweights? No.

So what on earth makes anyone think that most lightweights would have been KOd by Prescotts shots?
He is not proven to be a banger at the highest level, he has been KOing binmen in Colombia. Clearly he can punch, but we wont know just how big a puncher he is until he steps in with someone at a higher level with a decent chin.

To even talk about Lennox Lewis' chin in the same sentence is a joke. Lewis ate bombs from Vitali, was caught flush by Bruno, Mason and Mercer.
He was up at 6 from a monstrous right hand from McCall and was KOd by a HUGE right hand from a known world level puncher in Rahman. Moreover he was out of shape and gasping, had already eaten two big punches a big right and a flush left hook, his mouth was wide open and Rahman got full leverage and his whole weight behind the overhand right, full extension and it landed bang right on the point of the chin.

Khan has an awful chin. End of story.

And no the shots that put him down the first time would not have KOd Mitchell or numerous other lightweights.

    What are you talking about?

The Cuban kid he fought previous would seem to disagree no lightweight could take his shots. He took 10 rounds of em, and took him to a SD.

Prescott probably can be outboxed pretty easily.

You can't draw too many conclusions from 54 seconds, other than that he had enough power to put Khan to sleep.

He wasn't wobbled by a jab, his movement was checked by it. There's a difference.
