Yes I stated Khan has a weak chin, but his bad defence compounds that. I don't have anything against the fact he has a weak chin obviously the shots against Limond and Gomez were hardly comparable to Presscots huge wild swings do you really thing most lightweights could have taken the full on swings (if they had got caught that badly flush) by a wild Presscot. No of course not they would have gone down, but because they have a better defence than Khan they wouldn't be in that position. Gomez is a decent domestic banger and if i remember rightly Khan took a pretty good body shot from Gomez and some other shots well enough, and against Limond it was more a combination and the final shot was more a push to the floor. But he was hurt no doubt about that and dazed, but showed great heart in that fight. Yes Presscot faced a great cuban ex amateur who is very highly rated in Abril who obviously has a much stronger chin than Khan given Abril was a replacement to the fighter he was originally meant to face and a much better one! obviously Presscot was taken out of his game plan against someone who he wasn't ready for. Presscot watched Khan saw his weaknesses and went in straight away. Khan only hyped himself up for the fact it would gain Frank Warren more ticket sales, don't most fighters say stuff about world title ambitions? especially ones who have won an Olympic gold medal and are on TV every fight they need to give viewers a reason to keep tuning in. Obviously it's different if you're NOT made centre of attention. Khan I think has been humbled and rightly so, he did get a bit too cocky but he doesn't deserve the stick he still gets he's trying to make ammends and sparring the best P4P fighter in Pacman! and training with Roach. It's clearly overstated the fact every fighter will somehow knock Khan out, Khan beat some good fighters St Clair, Earl (shot however), Limond, Gomez, ones that are better than ***an whose lost against two light punching Americans one who was ring rusty. Who has ***an beaten?
I suppose in a few more months people will be saying they were not even proper knockdowns either. Khan was wobbled by a jab. We all saw it. Nobody discusses how "his movement was checked by it". We talk about how he was wobbled by a jab. Because that's what happened. Khan was wobbled by a jab.
I was talking about the shots from Presscot not Gomez or Limond. So were they not really hard shots he got hit with (apart from the jab ableit that did wobble him) Watch the first and second KO cleanly hit and actually looks like one of the KO's of the year. It was hardly like Audley VS Danny 1 where audley went down to grazing shot by Danny that barely hit him or a Herbie Hide type knockdown.
I think anybody with such a **** defence and fragile chin as Khan could end up on the receiving end of KO of the year. One fighter's frailties simply exaggerate another fighter's strengths. Prescott's punches were made to look far deadlier by the fact that Amir just took them full on as if he'd never been in a fight before in his life. There are many fighters at below world class level that hit like Prescott. They will all knock you out if you let them.
khan will not win a major world title, unless he gets it given for christmas.he will get knocked out again when he fights a decent puncher,he is way to amataeur,he can,t get out of it,yes he has beaten some decent superfeathers, but all the decent ones have either knocked him on his ass or wobbled him.and pls, watch the fight again,he was wobbled of a jab, which opened him wide for the left hook, with murry and the likes ,they wouldent get wobbled like that off a jab
No he wasn't - he didn't stumble, he was simply stopped in his tracks while trying to move forward. That's not getting wobbled, and everyone who said he did is full of ****.
I think your right... and the second knockdown was definately a slip. You can tell by the way Khans head rests on the turnbuckle. I think he just took the full count in protest at it been called a knockdown. :good
