Rewatching Pac/Clottey, is it actually a decent fight?

As a fan of Winky Wright, I always thought it was an interesting puzzle; how to break down a stronger man with a high, watertight guard. Pac just overwhelmed him with workrate and kept him in his shell with power. That wasn't a stinker guys, a stinker is when one guy just runs the whole time or holds for 12 rds and referee lets him. Anyway, a genuinely good win for Pac against a big, strong, awkward welterweight...and a pretty good fight:good

  2. Same thing Paul Williams did to your boy Winky. I thought both fights were similar and disappointing, but not boring.

    not convinced....

the event was uneventful and clottey was not trying to fight...just survive..and get that check and later say ...he went the distance.

diahrea is his excuse now? ...roach saying he would have thrown a chair at him...
don't sound like any type of ppv fight

Thats how he fights. Against most opponents he can come on strong and impose his strength whent heyre worn out. He couldn't against Pac.

This will be frustrating if you're a fan of Winky Wright, I know some are laughing but it's true. If you will be waiting for Clottey, like Wright does, to open up his guard and throw something then don't waste your time, he will just be covering up like that the entire fight and land very few single shots here and there.

I just re-watched the fight sober this time, and Clottey is a joke because it's obvious he might've even won had he let his hands go. The few times he threw, he was very effective. Upper cuts, straight rights, etc. The type of shots that snapped Pacman's head back.

It's just ridiculous to watch someone as talented as Clottey just let fights slip away.

You have to ask yourself how Clottey would've performed if he had the heart of a warrior like Timothy Bradley. You think Bradley would let a much smaller man just punch him to death? Yeah right. You can't teach heart, you either have it or you don't. Clottey has no balls.

Easy to say open up and start throwing when you are not the one in there face to face with Pac.

True. But what was also obvious is that Clottey was able to take Pacman's power and had the hand speed and talent to touch Pacman when he did throw.

 You weren't sober enough. Try drying out for a few weeks before you watch it again.

That defense was really impenetrable, and Clottey being a large Welter, was basically impossible to hit. But those body shots must have hurt him. Not really boring, but it was disappointing in the sense that it was unexpected of a Pac fight.

Watched it for free online so I guess I can't complain. Probably should've just waited to see a rebroadcast on HBO this weekend. That's how unexciting the match up is to me. The bout itself is unimpressive due to expectation. But the fact that Pac has the ability to dominate a big, strong guy like Clottey is no small feat. Can Pac do that to a highly skilled welterweight? Don't know yet.

  15. Pac hit Clottey with a right hook in round 1 that almost put him down. He was reluctant to open up from that point on.

He also had diarrhea which affected his poop output. I mean his punch output.
