Every thread I go into lately, all I have is people asking me to re watch this fight. I was very vocal at the time saying how disgusting the decision was and was asked to re score it by numerous posters across every forum. My current scoring project has just come to an end so it is now time to give this one a go. I'll update my card at the end of each round.
Round 1: Cat Taylor looks so hesitant and has none of his vaunted accuracy. Catterall grabs far too much, but clearly outlands Taylor and shows much better defence. Stand outs here are Taylor not being able to hit a barn door with a handful of rice, and Catterall ending the round with some head snapping jabs. 9-10
I watched that very recently actually. I scored it 6-6 I think. One sec I'll find my card. Taylor vs Prograis 1:10-9 2:9-10 3:10-9 4:9-10 5:9-10 6:10-9 7:10-9 8:9-10 9:10-9 10:10-9 11:9-10 12:9-10 114-114 Watched in Feb.
Round 2: Cat This round is closer, because Taylor just goes for it here and does close the distance a couple of times. But Cat can't seem to miss with that left hand and he gets the better of the jabbing exchanges. Taylor is unable to work inside, and the ref should do something about the grabbing, but he doesn't and even though I despise it, it's still apparent that Cat is outlanding him.
Round 3: Cat Catterall doesn't actually do an awful lot this round, but Taylor does even less. He looks so inaccurate and sloppy with his punching. He just misses by miles time and time again. Clear Cat round. And less clinching so yey. 27-30
Round 4: Taylor This was a very close round. Cat landed a couple of good combinations towards the end and very nearly stole the round. But the first 2 minutes was basically Cat refusing to engage and Taylor trying to engage. And every time Cat clinched, Taylor landed a body shot meaning he wins that "exchange" but very close round. 37-39
Round 5: Cat Good round for Cat here who lands cleanly on Taylor numerous times throughout the round, avoiding almost everything coming back at him. Taylor has a little bit of success driving Cat back but nowhere near enough to steal the round. 46-49
I'm not quite the son of God. But enough time has past for the dust to settle, and I wanted to rewatch it.
Round 6: Cat It's really frustrating how sloppy Taylor is with his punches. On the other hand Cat just cannae miss with his jabs and 1-2s 55-59
