Lopez's career is so weird. Starts out at light middle in the mid-late 90's, loses a whole bunch (seven of his first sixteen!) and then begins stepping up in level of competition, beyond the domestic scene around turn of the decade and develops into a kill-or-be-killed type (who scores knockdowns even in some of his losses to good fighters), then moves up to 160lbs and has some astonishing success, loses a war to Fulgencio Zuniga (not to be confused with Fernando Zuniga, who Lopez stopped during that initial MW run) and then goes on a 6.5 year undefeated streak cleaning out 154 and 160 of many of each division's journeymen and fringe contenders. Then hits a wall in Austin Trout, gets dropped and shut out, and has been toiling in mediocrity since.

He didn't even look disappointed that Reyes got the nod, let alone surprised.

Jorge Arce is such a creep. Backstage interviewing/flirting with/serenading Lourdes Juarez prior to her co-featured bout with Joselyn Reza at light flyweight. :rofl

Total **** vibes. (but also kind of pimp, as Lourdes seems pretty receptive to him.. :blood)

These dos minutos peleas fly by, man.

    Especially when this high-adrenaline.

This is like a TMZ catfight, with some actual skill.

Lourdes "Pequeña Lulú" Juarez (the adorable little sister of Mariana "Barbie" Juarez) beats Reza by UD, improving to 7-1 (1)

    Round 1

Paniagua is leading with rights on the body, swaying from side to side in a boxer's rhythm, keeping his forehead covered with leather. Vargas touches him with body jabs. Vargas drops Paniagua late in the mostly feeling-out round with a grenade of a right hand behind the ear, robbing Paniagua of his equilibrium. Paniagua beats the count and circles away, into a corner, rolling out deterrent jabs.

    10-8 Vargas

    Round 2

Paniagua is chased into the ropes while throwing overhands and then shelling up and dropping his elbows to his stomach, wary of Vargas' body shots. Vargas is throwing full-on right hooks from the orthodox stance - turning over as one does with a hook using the lead hand - but from the rear, throwing a crisp and powerful hook with the back hand and on the outside without telegraphing or going wide, hips turning as he swivels to his left (as would a southpaw throwing the right hook - or inversely, swiveling right on a left hook for an orthodox boxer) without betraying his terrain, footwork not suffering for his sinuous upper body movements. Vargas is catching Paniagua HARD on his temple with that right, around the back of Paniagua's left glove. Set-up left jabs by Vargas aforethought, just a formality. BIG right hand, sneaking in the side door again. Left hook triple up on the body as Paniagua staggers into the ropes. Paniagua hurt and sliding down in the corner, turnbuckle spooning him. No mas.

    KO2!!!
