Rey Geovani Vargas Roldán is now 23-0 (20) and you know what? He doesn't have 5% of the hype around him, but to me he's every bit the prospect Felix Verdejo is.

    YEAH I SAID THAT.

Only 24 and the kid is a straight up murderer in there.

How did three guys last the distance with him? :huh

    Ah, I see:

They are tough as nails. (three men in question have a combined 6 losses by stoppage in 83 bouts...throw away the 4-rounder early in Vargas' career and you have a pair of guys with two stoppage losses between them in 65 bouts)

Its crossed my mind a few times, and his info has been sitting in my favorites so you'll probably have one by tomorrow morning or afternoon.:good

It irritates me that not very many people comment on or even look at my Mexican threads even the really good prospects that I do, the thread counts are usually around 120 as opposed to the EE's and Asians that break around 200 to 500, but I don't care I'm hard headed:yep

Vargas was already WBC #4, and just captured another bauble (the WBC International Silver title ) - so he may well leapfrog Shingo Wake to become #3.

I'm not even kidding, he would be a live dog for Santa Cruz this year.

He's taller by a good few inches (no official stats listed but he towered over Paniagua, who's roughly the same as LSC at 5'7"), has busy hands, crushing power, and focuses on body work every bit as much as Santa Cruz - and has better punch selection and does more (and better) work off the jab, compared with the champ.

The only unknown areas, where Teremoto may trump him, are chin and deep-water stamina.
