I had him 4 - 2 down going into the seventh round :huh

Plus his post fight interview was quite sad really, you could tell all the pundits at sky and pretty much everyone that saw it rolled their eyes when he said he was going to box on, the guy's just going to be used as a punchbag, he just hasn't got it anymore, needs to hang em up.

Agree..I had him 4-2 down as well and it was only getting worse.

You could tell Nelson wanted him to call it a day

There's no where for him to go. Rematch is only thing I can think of

He will not get a re-match he was having the pace dictated for him against a younger, fresher fighter its a shame i believe he should call it a day.

no point at all in a rematch, he'd just get dominated and stopped again, he could be a viable opponent for Brian Rose perhaps? Rather see him just call it a day though.

I was impressed with Rabchenko, I thought Rhodes would still be too much for him even now and stop him late but Rabchenko showed a great chin and a good boxing brain.

Rhodes got overhyped after the Moore fight. Moore was a shadow of himself. I knew Rhodes would lose to Rabchenko, I just thought he would get beat on points. He should retire now.

Can he afford to retire though. 35 is young and maybe boxing is all he knows how to make money

One more aim could be to regain the British and get it for keeps again.

That's 3/4 more fights against beatable opposition for half decent money.

That said I haven't seen the fight so don;t know how far he has dropped.

Completely shot? Bad performance? Or Rabchenko was just very good?

i wouldnt say he was completely shot and Rabchenko was much better here than he was in the Pryce fight. However i dont think Rhodes can compete beyond british level anymore

Ryan Rhodes is one of my favourite fighters ever. I think David Coldwell has done an amazing job with him- all things considered, this was a man i've heard who was on the fringes of total self distruction as a result of lets call it 'socialising' (i might be wrong don't shoot the messenger).

The Moore fight did flatter him a little. Moore wasn't 100% and one thing that everyone over looked was that Rhodes spent years and years body sparring. Despite last nights ending Ingle fighters are generally really difficult to nail to the body.

Rhodes boxed well last night at times, but proved hittable. But just consider these two things before you write him off- firstly Rabchenko was constantly throwing as Rhodes through himself, or just after- this is a common trait in good east european fighters, think Romanov etc..... Also he was on the very fringes of winning in the fourth. It wasn't the performance of a shot fighter.

Personally I'd love to see Ryan down a level in the mix with Mathew Hall, Brian Rose, Sam Webb and now Kris Carslaw for the British title. He's had a fantastic career and I don't think he'd be out of place with any of those guys. Then if he can string together a little bit of form at that level then maybe he can think of a low level world title again- realistically though the last place he needs to be is back in the ring with Rabchenko who will always have his number by virtue of the way he thows his shots.

I thought Rhodes said he saw the score cards and one of them had him 6-1 up?
Personally i had him 4-2 down aswell.

Don't think he should retire, think he should go down the British route. There is also alot of good fights at middleweight for an extra pay day. Good fight with Murray perhaps?

That whole 'throwing a shot at the same time' thing is perhaps something Hatton installed in him. Seem to remember him talking up the importance of this, as a pundit prior to the Haye/Klit fight maybe?
