Not many fighters below 160 (if any) could have taken a prolonged beating and still been alive to moan about the stoppage :yikes

My favourite punch of the whole fight is Mosley's left hook from the southpaw stance in the 8th, nearly knocked himself down throwing it :nut

If Rhodes has sufficient stamina it's definitely winnable, he's a smarter fighter than Cotto :deal

 

He might be tougher and have more stamina than Cotto. That's the key. You're never going to stop Margarito easily but its possible to break him down with clean, accurate, powerful punching. And he's certainly outboxable over the first half of a fight if you have handspeed and skill.

It's later in the fight things would get tough, but Rhodes heart and toughness against Moore albeit at a much lower level would bode well.

Just watching this undercard fight here..... Lee Noble must be the most infuriating fighter to train. Far better than a dodgy looking 50-50 record IMO.

I don't think Margarito punches really hard but he punches often. You could see in the fights with Cotto that Pacquiao had more single punch power and better timing because he put Cotto on his ass whereas Margarito hit him with everything.

Rhodes would have to box and move really well early on and not take too much out of himself so that he has the strength to stand with Margarito later in the fight.

 

Who knows what Margarito's pop is like full stop, given the revelations? His punching technique was always terrible. I've still not seen his last fight, what did his power look like there?

I don't see a great deal in Murray. Could be exciting domestically but he's basically a poor mans Jamie Moore, isn't he?

 

Margarito can't do @ 154 what he did to fighters @ 147, not anymore. I think the Mosley fight and the whole plaster thing took a lot out of him, and he's been in too many wars. Rhodes can definitely beat him, and maybe look pretty good doing it.

 

Yeah i would say that, just he's been kicking about the same level for ages now.
