The 31-year-old was on the 1996 Olympic team with David Reid, Floyd Mayweather, Fernando Vargas et al. Rhoshii took home bronze in the 165 lb class, winning three bouts before dropping a decision to the eventual Gold medal winner Ariel Hernandez of Cuba. He had a professional record of 18-2-2 with a loss to Alejandro Garcia in 2003 for the WBA light middleweight title. Wells was also picked for this past season's Contender television series but was eliminated before the boxing action started.
