Ricans... will cotto change trainers after the clottey fight??

    any news?

    as we all know Cotto has a near complete offensive game but his defense has so many holes.

    this joe santiago has very little experience, and it would just be like Cotto's training himself instead of making any new improvements.

    i know Cotto doesn't like change, he is very stubborn, Phil Landman told me that Cotto was hesitant of hiring him, so i'm guessing an american trainer might be out of the question so what about a puerto rican trainer?

    ivan calderon or juanma lopez's trainers, would cotto consider them and are they any good?

    Would be an interesting choice. Weeks before Pacquiao-Hatton Roach was on a radio show and said he was hoping he'd get the call when it was announced Cotto was looking for a new trainer.

    I don't think Cotto's defense is that bad at all. It's not amazing but it's fairly functional and anyway... Cotto is all about the brooding presence he exhumes and the vicious punishment he dishes out.

    I'd love to see Roach train Cotto. Before the Margarito loss, Cotto was reaching a new level. I couldn't see anyone beating him at 147 apart from perhaps Williams. Just that night against Margarito, while an amazing fight, might well have taken something from him. Seriously, I think Margarito might well have had his pads but his chin that night was unbelieveable, his persistance and attack was incredible. He was litterally JOGGING over to Cotto, in order to take about 5 brutal headshots to land one bizarrely delivered uppercut.

    Still, I think Cotto will come back strong and hopefully he can land himsef a top trainer soon....

    yeah i did hear him say that ..but for some reason i think cotto has to much pride to consider having freddy roach in his corner .that match up would be insane

    Serious? Oh, man that would be awwesome if they hooked up (NO HOMO). Cotto is a seriously good boxer, who could soon be bordering on great in my opinion. Roach would be an ideal choice. Very technical, very good at getting the right sparring (or so it seems), very deliberate about his moves. He could turn Cotto into a killer.
