Boxer puncher. His style is one of the easiest to analyse ever.

Textbook boxer puncher in the same mold as guys like Juan Manuel Marquez and Alexis Arguello. Although he's more of a mid range fighter with not much inside ability. Great fighter.

Ricardo Lopez was savant like in his ability to seamlessly integrate offense and defense.

Also, he may be one of the greatest fighters ever and utilizing all three forms of defense (blocking/parrying, foot movement, and head movement) while countering with lethal combinations. He rates right up there with Gans and Benny Leonard in this category.

He could take his opponent out with a single well placed shot..or a whole bunch, whichever it took.
