    - Ricardo Lopez at 105lbs

    - Wilfredo Gomez at 122lbs

    - Roy Jones Jr at 168lbs

    - Evander Holyfield at 190lbs

Who was the most effective, most impressive, most difficult-to-beat fighter of these four guys at these specific weights?

Roy Jones Jr at 168lbs. I don't think anyone could have dealt with his combination of speed and power at this weight.

Lopez was equally hard to beat, but I gave Jones the nod because he'd be facing tougher assignments in fantasy match-ups.

...Then it'd be Wilfredo Gomez and Evander Holyfield, in that order.

I'll take Jones, Gomez was such a good boxer AND fighter it's silly though. We can speculate that he only moved up a few rounds and was not as good as at 122, but this thread is strictly talking what took place at 122, and he was amazing for ability on the evidence.

Indeed, but we saw what a good offensive fighter who was tough could do too Gomez at 122lbs. Pintor was more than competitive in that bout.

I'd favor a select few at 122lbs to pose similar problems for Gomez, where I can't think of too many 168 pounders disrupting Jones.

That was a great fight Addie, but before i saw that fight i was led to believe that Gomez was potentially in need of the stoppage to really be sure of victory. I didn't see it anything like that, i thought Gomez was comfortably ahead, even though it was a gruelling fight, i couldn't see Pintor ever winning that.

I'm of the belief that Gomez was never quite the same post Sanchez, even back down at 122.

He wasn't.You only have to look at the vast difference in the two Lopez fights for a quick indicator of how he had slipped.

The Pintor fight was good for confirming his toughness and determination though.

Gomez was the best ability wise at the weight. He had it all, plus beat some top competition their.

Lopez. The man who would beat him at that weight has never been born in my estimation. I'm not confident that Jones would come out of fights with every fighter ever to weigh in for fights under 168.

Jones would obviously be facing far tougher opposition though.

Overall, yeah, although in my head maybe the best scalp either man would take would be Jimmy Wilde?

This is why I gave him the nod. Lopez never being beaten at 105lbs is not only a testament to how good of a fighter he was, but also how historically weak the Minimum-weight division has been, even more so than 168lbs. I think there are a handful of Light Flyweights who either beat him or give him all sorts of hell.

Up to the time of Sanchez it was Gomez for me.

Isn't that why you should, in fact, give the edge to Lopez?
