Ricardo Mayorga Appreciation Thread.

Mayorga has helped keep boxing exciting over the past few years. He is the best "opponent" a fighter could ask for. Boxing history may one day credit him for derailing Forrest as well as being on the losing end of some epic battles against the elite fighters of his day.

I expect Mosley to crush him - but as always El Matador will pick himself back up and live to fight another day. The perfect dream fight today would be Margarito vs Mayorga.

 

..but look at all of the prefight antics..and I dont' mean the normal kind, I mean the night of the fight.

Mayo was trying to hold out for money, he didn't have the fight on his mind...he was still at the negotiating stage.

in my eyes regaurdless if he went down later to titos pressure he STILL took those damn hooks without falling ... and kept throwing bombs in return ..thats more then the larger vargas can say as well as various other fighters ..

the combination of incredible chin and power and clown heart to go with rudimentary boxing skills is entertaining

I remember once he said something to the effect of, "could you imagine how good I would be if I had actually learned how to fight?"

if it had been a lesser fighter mayorga woulda won once he crushed his will with those shots not hurting him ...but its trinidad ..he knew lol he knew in his head **** let me hit this fool another fool rounds he'll be danceing alright
