but remember, mosley destroyed vargas in the 2nd fight and even if you think cotto is overrated, he's still a top world class fighter. mayorga struggled to get past an older vargas than the one shane fought.

i like mayorga a hell of a lot, but i don't think he stands much of a chance.

I honestly feel we will see the best Ricardo Mayorga we have ever seen in this fight.

Look for him to catch Shane and take the fight and the win

I never thought Mayorga beat Forrest. The first fight was stopped too soon, and the second, Forrest was a victim of the numbers game. Shane is old, so I give Mayorga a chance to win. Shane probably has too much technique for Mayorga and I think he dominates Mayorga in 12. Mayorga punches too wide, and Shane will be able to defense those wide shots easily if he doesn't come to the ring looking old. Shane UD...

I think Mayorga's fight with the scales is more important to this fight than anything -- he resorted to diuretics to get down to 154 last time, and I think he struggled quite a bit just to get down to the 160+ catchweight against Vargas. I think all Shane has to do to win is just outlast Mayorga and pick his spots.

    A very rash statement, Scar.

I expect Shane to win, as he is the more polished and skillfull of the two.

But it's far from a done deal.

Mayorga is physically stronger and tougher, and has a better chin.

He is more than capable of pulling off the upset here.

Shane is smart enough to box cautiously to a decision win. It's very unlikely that he'll stop Mayorga, considering he has only two stoppage wins in the past 6 years.
