Ricardo Mayorga - Has there ever been a champion who's thrown worse punches?

    i just posted the tito vs mayorga fight on another thread and it's amazing how mayorga ever had any success. the guy never knew how to throw a punch. has there been any other championship level fighters with terrible form like this? i'm having trouble thinking of any that were this bad plus he never seemed like he was in the greatest shape.

    Mayorga was strong as an ox. He didn't need to throw textbook punches to hurt someone. When he wanted to he could throw straight punches, and also could show some good skills. I think it was in the Piccirillo fight he shows some good things. That Mayorga would **** a lot of 154lbers up in my opinion.

    not worse, but all threw plenty of thoroughly telegraphed sloppy looking or poorly executed punches.

    As those fighters show, if you have timing and accuracy it can be just as hard to deal with as someone throwing perfect textbook shots all the time.

    Former two division champ Daniel Ponce Deleon threw some hideous shots. Seeing Ponce try to wing a leaping left to the body, followed by a right hook upstairs was a cringe inducing sight, although he did polish his game slightly after losing to Juanma.
