How would you see that fight going?

Mayorga will **** him with words and trash talk, in press conferences, and Nick is cocky enough to fight standing up with him to show balls. Obviously if he does take it to the ground then Nick subs him, but like I said Nick is cocky enough to stand with him.

Do you see Mayorga having a chance if such a match were to take place?

Diaz would have him submitted in under 60 seconds.

If Nick is dumb or high enough to stand and trade - or if the old dog can learn a new trick in mastering a sprawl in a miraculously short period of time, then yes.

Colorful boxing veteran Ricardo Mayorga, who's fought everyone from Oscar De La Hoya to Shane Mosley to Félix Trinidad, is heading to the world of mixed martial arts.

The Ohio-based Shine Fights, which held its second-ever event on Friday in Florida, made the announcement during its online pay-per-view broadcast of the show.

No debut date or opponent have been determined for Mayorga, a former WBA/WBC welterweight and WBC junior middleweight champion who owns a 29-7-1 career record.

Mayorga, a 35-year-old native of Nicaragua, debuted professionally as a boxer in 1993. He hit his stride from 1999 to 2003 by going 16-0-1 with 13 knockouts. He concluded the streak with a TKO of Vernon Forrest for the WBC/WBA welterweight belt and won the rematch via majority decision six months later. (Forrest was 35-0 entering their first meeting.)

Since then, though, Mayorga has alternated between wins and losses and is just 3-4 in his past seven fights. He most recently suffered a 12th-round knockout loss to Mosley in September 2008.

Mayorga recently sued Don King for his inability to find him a fight and for alleged violations of the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act. In the interim, it appears he'll begin preparations for a late-career run in MMA.

Mayorga wouldn't be the first pro boxer to try MMA, but he certainly would be one of the bigger and more accomplished names to make the transition.

I would say that mayorga is wild as **** and throws crazy punches so he a as good a chance of winning as anyother mma puncher. I mean he hardly demonstartes hos boxing skill, he simply throws everything but the kitchen sink at you

    Daily Training Schedule

11:30am: Mayorga wakes up and drinks one cup of coffee with one slice of lemon and a cheeseburger. This is the breakfast designated by his nutritionist. According to a camp member, Mayorga often deviates from this breakfast and has a shot of Flor de Caña with his cheeseburger. Flor de Caña is an alcoholic beverage from Nicaragua.

12:00pm: Mayorga goes for a three mile run. As part of Mayorga’s training regimen, he is allowed to drink plenty of water during this run and stops frequently to urinate. According to the trainer, this helps to spike metabolism and trigger weight loss.

12:30pm: Mayorga has a lunch that usually consists of an energy drink, pork chops and one banana. Mayorga then goes to the bathroom in order to eliminate any waste.

12:45pm: Mayorga goes to a farm and milks a buffalo. Mayorga then kills a pig with a hammer in order to increase focus and striking power. This pig will be used to cook the pork chops for the next day. Mayorga later attempts to manually catch fish in a brook for hand eye coordination. These are techniques well known to most Nicaraguan fighters.

2:00pm:Mayorga does 10 rounds of bag and mitt work with trainer Rigoberto Garibaldi. Mayorga takes advantage of the sweltering heat of the country by wearing a rubber suit during this session in order to sweat off pounds.
3:00pm: Mayorga does 15 rounds of sparring with local prospects Hector Vergasana and Pedro Puteras. Mayorga opts not to wear the rubber suit during sparring and strips down to just thong underwear. Mayorga humiliates the fighters during sparring and accuses them of staring at his genitals and saying they are not real men.

5:00pm: Mayorga concludes his training and, unlike other famed fighters, did not wind down in a thermal pool or receive a nude rub down as is usually the norm. He usually just sat down and spoke to reporters or female fans.

After 5:00pm, Mayorga can usually be found at a nearby bar or the popular whorehouse, La Amazona. Although I am told that he does not drink any alcoholic beverages during training, everyone in the neighborhood knows that he can be found in the whorehouse up until 3am on most nights. I interviewed Maribel, a prostitute, and she had this to say:

“Ricardo usually comes here every night when he’s not training and he is really an animal. He loves to f*** and actually prefers to eat pu**y more than to f***. We are sometimes sad when he is training because he can’t visit as much. However, he still comes over at least four days per week and he is the only customer that I’ve seen to pay us to let him eat pu**y. Ricardo says that this gives him power for his fight.”

I was very unimpressed with Mayorga’s training methods and I expect him to lose to Angulo by early knockout. Most Nicaraguans, myself included, just wish that Mayorga would retire and stop embarrassing us. Mayorga respects nothing and could care less about training seriously.

With a proper boxing training regime like this (as reported by Zeferino Jackson) there no way he would be able to lose in MMA.
