    the talk of rivalry between past great pernell whitaker and current great floyd mayweather had me thinking of the rivalry in nicaragua when mayorga and arguello had a strong disliking to each other.

    i think arguello has a good chance of winning but mayorga was a steel chinned monster at 147lb which could be one step to many if they ever fought in this dream match up.

    Mayora would kill Arguello at 147, though it would be great to see Alexis clean Ricardo's clock.

    Arguello would tee off on Mayorga. If you thought De La Hoya's punches were accurate, imagine Arguello counterpunching against the wild swinging Mayorga.

    Arguello would destroy Mayorga, it would be exactly what Odh did to mayorga.

    Areguello Tees off on this smokey all night. Alexis ate a ton of hard @ss shots from Pryor before eventually going down, and he also gave a ton in return.

    I pick Arguello...I only need to look at the Pryor fights for all my proof.

    There could be a 20 lbs weight difference and Arguello would still beat Mayorga and do it easily.

    @147lbs... WTF???
    But out of respect to "El Flaco Explosivo"
    Arguello by KO, Mayoraga couldn't hold Alexis jock.
    (even tho it was weight classes below)

    Was'nt that the reason Juan Manuel Marquez was given zero chance to beat Pacquiao at 147 lbs??? :lol::lol::lol:

    When there is a skill level difference between combatants thats enormous, the weight difference disparity cant compete against "skill" level disparity!
    :deal:bbb

    .....and btw, at 140 lbs, Arguello gave a cheating Aaron Pryor who some say is the best ever at 140 lbs, all he could handle.
    How the **** does that equate to Arguello not being able to carry 140 lbs? It does'nt!

    Vernon was big and had skills. look what happened. Mayorga gets underrated at welterweight.
