There is a reason why Arguello never fought at 147,he was 5'10 but also thinned bone & he always said 140 was his maxed out boxing weight.Remember he started his boxing career at 126 pounds & fought more than 50% of his 88 fights there.Had he fought anyone else for the 140 pound belt besides Pryor he would have become the first boxer to win belts in 4 different weight divisions but he did.As we now know today Pryor did take a drug that opened up his lungs & in a tough fight like they were in that made the difference .

i think this is right at the line where skills level out with size. alexis is a certified atg, who lacked nothing. and as has already been stated, he went neck and neck with one of the greats at 140. but ricardo is a big strong man. able to shake off punches smaller guys cant. and his shots, no matter where they hit you, will debilitate you.
i suppose mayorga at his absolute best, would ko arguello. anything less and he gets beat up and styled on.

Mayorga too big, size matters here when you're going up against a wild gunslinger who's shots you can't anticipate. That's how Vernon got clipped in the first fight.

C'mon people, weight divisions exist for a reason.

As good as Arguello was he never really proved anything past 140. Mayorga was rude, lewd and could punch.
