Oh, that is the last you heard of him? More recently he debuted in BKB.

...this is his return to real boxing since the retirement after Brook II, however.

Didn't know that. Only know about the Rosado vs Vera fight when it comes to BKB

    Round 2

Double jab up top by Jones. Vargas shimmies back and leans to either side, flipping up weak jabs from down by his knees. Jones is shoving Vargas back with both hands and ripping into his body. Big hooking lefts and rights into the elongated torso of Vargas, who keeps fleeing with long slides & drags of his spindly legs, but never quite running as
Jones is able to reach him with just a plodding steady cruise.

    10-9 Jones

    20-18 Jones

    Round 3

Jones is walking Vargas down and jabbing up at him from the peekaboo. Jones pitches himself forward, headfirst, cranking in hard left and right hooks on the body. Jones gets Vargas backpedaling across the ring and batters him into a corner, dumped on the seat of his pants. Count waived.

    KO3!!

    I take it back actually.

He was scheduled to have fought Said El Harrak but came in10lb overweight. He supposedly announced his retirement from all combat sports the day of the BKB weigh-in over the embarrassment.

...and yet, here we see him tonight.

Aydin Ouali was a great fight, tons of lowblows if I remember correctly

Both are way past it (very capable in their day, though neither close to elite) but this should be fun.

    Round 1

Ouali is shelling up and poking with his right jab. Brewer doubles his left jab up top and dives in with a straight right on the diaphragm. Big uppercuts on the sides by Brewer after feinting with a 1-2 to make Ouali fall back into a lean away with his guard up. Brewer is jerking back to make Ouali miss his short right jab and lobbing quick snowflake left jabs at him followed by long rights with more serious intent. Ouali grabs Brewer and spins him onto the canvas at the bell.

    10-9 Brewer

    Round 2

Brewer is ducking the Ouali jab and throwing overhand rights with his neck craned upward to aim before straightening. Awkward flow in the action with Ouali leading with very slow and wide sweeping right hooks and getting ducked, Brewer snatching him by the waist for a quick squeeze and letting go, launching off and staying low while Ouali comes after him with right jabs like someone fumbling at the bathroom door knob in the dark.

    10-9 Brewer

    20-18 Brewer

    Round 3

Brewer is holding and hitting with his free left against Ouali's back as Ouali does the same with his own left, their starboard edges grinding together. Big swings by Ouali with the up-and-over flail of a right hook. Brewer ducks over to his right and lets them scrape his back, countering with jabs and quick light straight flurries in the face jumping in. They clinch and Brewer gets in an uppercut just before the bell.

10-9 Brewer, this one close, scrappy and ugly.

    30-27 Brewer

    Round 4

Brewer is shooting the jab out now from shoulder level, expending more energy as he keeps the left arm raised defensively between throws with Ouali breathing down his neck applying steady pressure despite not landing with his right jab. Frequent clinches. They whirl in the middle of the ring, passing one another laterally and each taking a chance with a hook on the body, Ouali's right versus Brewer's left - both just grazing.

    10-9 Brewer, close again.

    40-36 Brewer
