Definitely hard to pick one over the other. Chalk this one up as a great fighter that should've happened, that we failed to demand.:deal

Yeah really Margo is the better fighter, hes better conditioned and has better overall boxing skills. Get Mayorga past a few rounds like Margo most certainly would be able to do with his solid chin and what do you have left in Mayorga? A sloppy off balance wide swinging fighter with reduced power and fitness. Margo stops him late.

Forget the fight. Just imagine all the trash talking in the press conference.

Mayorga late rounds stoppage or on pts.

Mayorga would be the bigger, stronger man in the fight. Something Margarito is used to being.

Margarito stayed at 147 for a reason, because he couldnt cut it at 154 which in reality is probably his ideal weight.

Mayorga in his prime wasnt gonna be hurt at 147 by AM. And in his prime Mayorga's speed is pretty underrated and he hit like a ton of bricks and AM wouldnt be getting out of the way of any shots. And Mayorga is much stronger then AM also.

Mayorga at welter in his younger days would have edged out Margarito in a total war IMO.... He was much faster, heavier hands, better footwork.... and his defence is actually completely underrated for his welter days, he wasnt always the face first caveman people see at 160 and above (i think he would be able to avoid a lot of margaritos shots for the first 5 rounds or so until he becomes a bit more stationary)

I think Mayorga takes a lot of the early shots by winning the exchanges with his more crisp shots and faster delivery, i think Margaritos activity and workrate start taking over from about 6-10, with Mayorga stepping on the gas for the last two rounds in a complete war, winning 8 rounds to 4, to capture a UD.

Tell that Six Heads Lewis or Vernon Forrest, who would have probably beaten Margo himself. Watch the punches that Mayorga landed on Lewis, he damn near tore his head off his shoulders. I don't care how good your chin is, you're not taking that for long.

Mayorga's skills are underrated at WW, he had a plan and he knew what he was doing, and he knew how to impose his will on you. As he went up in weight he seemed to be less and less disciplined.
