Round 1 Mayorga is blundering in and throwing big two-handed combos at the body. Zepeda is dancing around him, lining up jabs and landing most of them on the aging Nicaraguan's face. Mayorga swinging for the fences, very aggressive, targeting Zepeda's body and making only slight contact, then headhunting and making none. BIG hooks wound up by Mayorga, blocked. Solid 1-2 by Zepeda staggers Mayorga slightly. 10-9 Zepeda
Round 2 Mayorga is getting dirty now, hitting Zepeda in the crotch and then hammering down with rabbit punches up close. Zepeda staying mostly composed behind a jab. Mayorga hurts Zepeda a few times with both illegal and partially blocked/stuffed legal blows, mostly can-opener hooks up top. Zepeda getting in a light trickle of counter jabs while jogging on the back-foot. 10-9 Mayorga 19-19
Round 3 Mayorga charging hard but also blowing hard now, in danger of punching himself out despite a tepid output. Just putting everything into each punch. Zepeda is covering up and poking at Mayorga with counter jabs. Mayorga lets his arms hang low, attacking in lunges from a gorilla stance, taking wide telegraphed swings at the body. Zepeda is caught and nearly doubled over by one, and goes into a shell. Mayorga walks up and chops through his gloves into Zepeda's face. Zepeda backs into a corner. The ref waves it off with 5 seconds remaining on the clock as Zepeda is visibly shying away from the fight. Anticlimactic, but... TKO3!!
I didn't figure there was a chance in hell anybody was crazy enough to be looking for a Mayorga vs. palooka stream at 1:30am (and I have to be at work at 6!), didn't even check to see if there was another thread.
I knew about the live fight since yesterday, I figured everyone was gonna stay up and watch the great Mayorga secure a chance to fight Margarito...!!!
