I personally feel Shane Mosley will win this fight. I get the sense that the forum believes this fight is a joke and Mosley will tear him apart. Fair enough. HOWEVER, Mayorga has some edges going into the fight... 1. He's a naturally bigger man. Everyone (specifically Vernon Forest) he's fought UNDER 150 lbs, he's beaten (besides early in his career). This is because he overwhelms them with his persistance/strength...More importantly his seemingly INABILITY to get hurt. 2. He's beaten Vernon Forrest 2x. Shane Mosley lost to Vernon Forrest 2x. Now, I'm not professing Mayorga will win this fight. I think Mosley will. However, Mayorga does have a shot, especially if he comes in fit. What do you all think of Mayorga's CHANCES?
mayorga is not the mayorga that burst onto the scene.... his heart isnt in boxing anymore, and so theres really nothing he brings to this fight. If we were talking about the mayorga i came to love in the cruz, lewis, forrest and spinks fights.... then id say this is one badass fight, but its not... its 2008 and mayorga is finished I hate this fight and its too bad Mosley even made this fight...
I'm a big fan of both fighters but I want Mayorga to actually win a big fight for once instead of getting destroyed every time he steps it up lol
Nah man I like this one its gonna be a brawl, not at the elite level these fighters were ten years ago but its gonna be interesting. Better than Tito/Roy but not as good as Margo/Cotto. Probably as good as Judah V Cotto.
The difference now is that Mayorga has learned to respect his opponents. I do not believe this is going to be as easy for Mosley as everybody thinks.
Unfortunately, Mayorga is past his prime and Mosley just seems to have the advantages in this fight. I pick Mosley, but anything can happen.
How do you know his heart isn't in boxing anymore? He lost to a HIGHLY motivated Oscar De La Hoya, and he lost to A FAR BIGGER/stronger fight than mosley in Tito Trinidad. I'd also like to add that Shane has never fought a man nearly as strong/big/relentless as mayorga
I would pick Mosley over a prime Mayorga, i dont think that one will be too difficult for Mosley. It was a bad career move to give Tito free punches on his chin. I somehow lost interest in Mayorga. He was talking mad **** and was beaten brutally by both, Tito and dela Hoya.
shane kicked mayo's dads ass twice de la hoya jr vs sugar shane mosley; can jr do what his father couldn't do twice?
Tito, Oscar, Winky, and Vargas. They are all pretty big and strong. Mosley has been at 154 for a while. He is going to soften Mayorga with his boxing and body shots and then slug it out for a while which is where he could make a mistake. Mayorga throws punches from weird angles. I still go with Mosley, but anything could happen. I just hope it is entertaining.
Mayorga gives everybody problems, but Shane will still win of course. Seems like a useless fight for Shane, but maybe he feels somehow he's vindicating himself from the losses against Forrest.
