According to the newspaper El Heraldo of Barranquilla a week before pulling out from the Holt fight, Torres has mentioned that he can still make 140 but it is getting a bit more difficult. Said if he doesnt get Holt or Hatton in 2009 he will look for challenges at 147.

I dont think this is a wise choice even though it would make for some interesting fights at 147, 140 is where he should be.

Torres in good fighter. He has great power on those punches even though he has those skinny arms. He put cotto in some trouble in their fight.

But i somehow thin he is too small for 147. I mean how do you think he would do with Margo, Mosley, Cotto, Berto? I like the guy but his chances against them are a bit sketchy.

He should stay there until he definitely can not make 140. I would give him a huge chance against Hatton.

I have no doubt that he stops Holt in a rubbermatch.

He should stay at junior welter, I would say Cotto, Margo, Clotty, Cintron and Williams would have as easy time with him.

Too small for WW. Plus there's still plenty of fights for him at JWW I think, and ones he can win.

All the best fights are at welterweight, it's the best divison in the world with the most money. There's your answer.

Torres can certainly dish it out but there's no way he'll be able to take it especially at 147. At 147 every fight he's in would be a race to see who can ko who first and against any of the division elites he would lose those races.
