This would be a terrible match up for Hatton at this stage. The last thing he would want to face is a big puncher. I would think there is a good chance Hatton would get stopped fairly early. Although if Hatton can weather an early storm and land some shots to the body it could be a different story.

I can see what you're saying but one thing that Hatton had in his prime was a very good chin.

    Hmmmmmmmmm

McGee dropped him , Collazo nearly knocked him down.

Against Tszyu yeah he had a great chin but that was at least partly just down to utter determination.

He had a decent chin but Torres is a proper banger

I wouldn't put any bets down on Hatton prime vs prime because Torres always has a chance as a banger and I don't know how well Hatton could have smothered and mauled him. I'd favor Hatton though. Now, I'd heavily favor Torres. Hatton used to have a terrific chin but I have to suspect that it's gone now and he never developed defense that didn't depend on his smothering and offense. It's possible it was just the accuracy of PBF+ring post or the explosive p4p power of Pac that got him but even if it was, surely now the resistance is down and he's very susceptible to any banger. And if it's only one thing that Torres really does well it's get in there and toe-to-toe it with anybody. I have to give him that. Tough SOB.

You guys are talking about the same Torres who got a SD with Mike Arnaoutis and went twelve with some guy named Morua and needed a last round knockout to beat Pinzon? It sounded like you were talking about Tommy Hearns for a second there.

C'mon, Torres might win, but why is he better than say, Urango, who Hatton swept? Is Torres better than Malignaggi? Malignaggi has better wins than Torres does.

The amount of disrespect for Hatton, who actually won some significant fights, truly astounds me.

What do people think would have been the result of Torres-Mayweather or Torres-Pacquiao, just for some context.

That's my point. Torres has struggled with every mediocre contender he has ever fought. Hatton has blasted through a dozen of those guys.

The thought of Torres against either of the fighters Hatton lost to is absurd. The one time Torres fought a class Cotto, a pre-prime fighter not close to the versions of Pac and Mayweather Hatton fought, he got KO'd.

Yeah, he landed a couple hard punches and scared Cotto, but he was largely dominated by a still maturing Cotto.

Torres is a BAD style matchup for him, would take his head off.
