    From Dan Rafael's weekend notebook...

A third bout between junior welterweight titlist Kendall Holt and ex-beltholder Ricardo Torres is under heavy discussion. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com that he's talking with Showtime about putting the fight together for December and offers have been extended to both fighters. Arum said the target date is Dec. 5 in Las Vegas on the eve of De La Hoya-Pacquiao. In their first meeting in Torres' native Colombia in September 2007, Torres retained a belt via controversial 11th-round TKO in a fight in which fans pelted the ring all night with liquid and debris. In the July rematch in Las Vegas, Holt claimed the title with a savage first-round knockout in a wild, 61-second fight. Holt (24-2, 13 KOs) was down twice before knocking Torres (32-2, 28 KOs) cold after an accidental head butt him. Showtime was booked for the rest of the year, but Arum said that when Joan Guzman failed to make weight for his fight last week with Nate Campbell, it meant Showtime, which didn't have to pay for it, suddenly had money left in the budget. "I guess fortunately for us, Guzman saved them a lot of money," Arum said.

    ----------------------

I'm glad it's happening, or at least, appears to be happening. Though I think a tune up for Torres would have been nice, considering how brutally he was knocked out (even if it stemmed from a headbutt) in the last fight.

Yeah but I'm not very fond of headbutt-big punch combinations.

3rd fight? YEAH! Bring it on!

Good, Ricardo will have a chance to avenge Holt's lucky headbut.

That **** was a headbut KO!!!

The shot after the headbut was clean but Holt's head set that shot up!

Torres was KO'd by a headbutt ... I think the more lethal shots landed was by "Monchuelo" and he was on the verge of getting an early KO of Holt.

    Holt was lucky ...

I personally think this fight should either headline or co-feature a nice HBO event ... possibly B.A.D or on the undercard of WCB.

It was very clear that Torres was hurt and dazed from the headbutt ... his knees buckled after the collision and he went back into retreat --

I'm telling you guys ... Torres was on the verge of knocking Holt out before the collision of heads ... he had scored two knock downs and his right hand and his left hook was looking feirce ... I wouldve only gave Holt a round or two before he was caught with something that he wasn't going to be able to recover from.

If the ropes weren't there, the right hand wouldn't have landed. Torres was on his way to the canvas after the headbutt. The ropes kept him up long enough for the right hand to land.

Yea.. any boxing fan could clearly see how shakey the legs were of holt. He was lucky that he accidentally headbutted Torres and that it rocked him that badly.

The referee should have given Torres a minute at least but then again it was very quick. I say in a third match, Torres gets his crown back.

    Torres by Ko 7.
