The headbutt started it all, he was seriously hurt from it, then came Holt's punches to finish him off. Wasn't it mentioned earlier that the WBO turned down Torres' appeal for an immediate rematch?

The WBO did turn down Torres' appeal for an immediate rematch, but I always thought if it was the best money fight for Holt there would be a third bout. I think Showtime was always interested in it, and I can't think of another fight that Holt would get that would pay him more.

    Hope it gets done quickly.

I wonder what kind of controversy we will get in the 3rd fight.

I say, the ref unknowingly trips one of the fighters, counts it as a Knockdown and the other guy goes on to win by a single point

Yeah that DOES get swept under the rug. As does the entire farce that was the 12th round of the first fight.

Either way this is the real fight at 140...**** Hatton-'Naggi.

I agree. I don't expect much in the way of excitement from Hatton and Paulie. In fact, if I missed seeing that one all together I think it would be okay.

The headbutt was in the heat of the battle and not done on purpose. Holt actually threw a punch after the butt that landed on the shoulder of Torres which forced him into the ropes to get his arm tangled, and then put him to sleep with his eyes wide open. Nobody did anything illegal and on purpose. Holt went through hell being hit with a bottle, and had his feet pulled when he fought Torres in torres backyard...

The headbutt clearly led to the KO. Holt was going to get KOed up to that point. This 3rd fight will settle the score

Agreed...People forgot that Torres had home cooking as well. Holt got hit with a beer bottle, and had someone pulling at his feet. The fact that he never got a fair count after he went down too was comical to see.

It's a shame the way that bout was handled, Torres was on his way to a first round KO and was obviously the better man in the ring that night. The bout should have been ruled a no contest, I still can't believe the decision wasn't overturned.

Their first fight was just as terrible as the butt. People pulling at Holt's feet, getting hit with a bottle, Torres getting what seemed like extra time to get up...Maybe the inadvertant butt was karma...

Both figths had controversial events and this third fight should really chose the best man between the 2

Exactly. Torres didn't want bottles thrown at Holt, he also didn't want fans grabbing at Holt's feet, and Holt didn't game plan a butt. Hopefully the third fight is clean...

You're right, it was a BS KO, but it did leave Torres in very bad condition. A tune-up would be a wise move to clear the cobwebs.

BTW-Has Torres considered getting with a top trainer (like Roach)? I think he's got the tools to go far, but is limiting himself with his current situation.
