    Forrest Griffin was significantly bigger than Franklin, and Franklin was above his best fighting weight anyway.

    Putting that fight aside then, Franklin has really only lost to top, top guys in his career: Anderson Silva, Henderson, Machida and Belfort.

    He was consistent though not spectacular, solid though not brilliant.

    Wins over Tanner, Rivera, Quarry, Loiseau, Okami, Hamill, Wanderlei, Lutter, Liddell.

    Winner of 3 UFC title fights.


    I dunno, I think he's on the edge of HOF status. He's way behind champions like Anderson Silva and Matt Hughes in terms of greatness, but way ahead of champions like Matt Serra and Tim Sylvia.

    He's sort of on that Jens Pulver/Vitor Belfort "is he, isn't he" level. Is he a great?

    He'll be remembered as a good fighter, but not great since he fell short against ALL of the elite competition he ever faced.
