Richard Abril Could Step In For Yuriorkis Gamboa Against Brandon Rios

Abril was trying to sell his fight today in Miami.The problem is nobody knows him.
hard to sell that fight unless Abril gets some exposure first with someone else.
If Arum had a hard time matching stars like gamboa and rigo...what is left for Richard?

That's just a speculative article.

Even if it went down, TR better offer refunds to
ticket holders because it'd be a tragedy to have
tickets for Rios-Gamboa and be stuck paying
for that mismatch.

 

Hbo wouldn't buy an abril fight so no way that happens. And besides, if gamboa doesn't happe, rios willwill just move to 140. Hopefully against alvarado who is already on the card.

Abril will beat the **** out of anyone at his weight class. Dude isn't a big puncher, but he can fight. I've seen him live and he is a slick badass. Elusive as hell, really tricky.

Didn't anyone learn from Donaire? Walking out on a TR contract, especially when they've invested into a fight is just dumb. Mayweather might have gotten his hands dirty on this one. First Rigo and now Gamboa. What's the appeal with Mayweather promotions anyways?

 

That really sucks about Gamboa-Rios if it's true (which it's not officially yet!) but Abril deserves a big fight...
