So let me get this straight...The last time I check the basic principals on scoring are :

    -Clean and effective punching
    -Ring Generalship
    -Defense
    -Effective Agression

So under those guidelines of scoring...you're telling me that Rios actually did any of those things??? and now it boils back to my point...Its a fact that Rios was rewarded something he didnt do...ITs a fact that 95% of the boxing world calls this one of the biggest robberies...its a fact that Rios own actions after the fight suggest he thought he lost. Like I said, you bull**** arguements gets weaker and weaker everytime you post! Thats a fact for you!

Deal:good Let me ask you something though and its does refer to this fight....

People argue Effective aggression is what counts and I agree, However if Fighter A who is the aggressor is negated by fighter B and the method of negating is a foul, how can Fighter A be discredited when thats all fighter B is doing to negate fighter A? and how can fighter B suddenly be rewarded for negating fighter A when fighter B is using an illegal non scoring tactic to negate fighter A?

This isn't true. Holding is holding. Yes, it is acceptable given certain circumstances. Where a boxer is hurt, for example. But if a boxer is hurt holding on, odds are they have lost the round anyway.
The judges aren't necessarily at the mercy of a poor ref.

Yes, it is "effective aggression" that is scored - but it is also a 10point must system where ties are discouraged. So if a judge does not feel that either boxer is "effective" (however they are defining it) then the round still can be given to the more agressive boxer, effective or not.
Splitting hairs perhaps, but the scoring guidelines are open to interpretation.

Good points on all accounts, and again Holding is and should only be acceptable in certain aspects, if a fighter is hurt of course that goes with the protect yourself at all times deal there....

some judges may also look at the excessive holding as Rios's aggression is that effective it leaves Abril no other choice but to hold again its open to interpretation

This is how I saw the fight and after having watched that **** again I have allot of after thoughts...

    R1 Abril

    R2 Rios

    R3 Rios

    R4 Abril

    R5 Abril

    R6 Rios

    R7 Rios

    R8 Rios

    R9 Even

    R10 Even (fav rios slightly)

    R11 Abril

    R12 Abril

5 rounds each with two rounds even.....

Lets not get into the discussion about effective Aggression or Holding both are valid points no need to beat a dead horse.

To me what this came down to was effective punching, I believe Abril was over credited with allot of his shots.
    Allow me to explain.....

You can not pitty pat a jab the way Abril did most of the fight and expect that to be viewed as an effective scoring blow. That looping right hand that Abril would throw over and over most of the time it hit the left glove of Brandon Rios....

That left hook the same thing and in watching this fight again you can see Rios blocking or picking off that silly jab.....

while Rios was held, he did bang away with the free hand every single time to the body usually, all of his left hooks also did make it around Abrils guard sometimes Rios would turn that shot a little differently and hit Abril on the nose area and we know that right hand made it to the body often of which are scoring shots.

This is not a fight in which you can sit back and say well his aggression wasnt effective so he lost, I call bull**** this fight came down to effective punching most of Abrils work was done after Brandon initiated contact, Abril would tie him up and as soon as the break came he would try to sneak shots in.....

Exactly the reason there is allot of debate over it and its exactly the reason I have this fight a draw or one point for Rios... Ugly fight to watch, difficult fight to score....
