    You've got it all wrong.

It's Richar Abril, first off - with no "d".

    Second, "unbelievable...great boxing talent"? :rofl

He is an effective spoiler. There is nothing great about him. He schooled Brandon "Bam Bam I'm A Caveman" Rios, big whoop.

His losses to Lundy and Prescott were legit. (I was there live at ringside for the former; not one person in the audience thought Abril deserved the nod)

Besides Rios he does have one solid victory over Bogere, another case of him being stylistically advantaged over a decent but not great fighter...but that's it. Miguel Acosta is the best name on his resume but was shot to bits when he fought Abril. The prime of Aguacerito was ridiculously short and he quickly became a hollow shell after his own encounter with Rios.

Where did he go? I don't care. We aren't exactly mourning the disappearance of the next Sweet Pea.

Don't get me wrong - I appreciate technical boxers. Abril is no Miguel Vazquez, however. Those skills are not present in him...just a bunch of spoiling tricks. I can respect his defense being clever and effective despite being ugly to watch (far worse than a Vazquez's or Molina's or Spinks') but his offensive is amateurish. He is light hitting, with low volume and doesn't even through crisp accurate technically correct punches. Just little pokes and love taps, amateur style point-scorers...very little 'clean and effective". He is like a smaller and more dreadful version of Sergio Mora.
