Richard Abrils Shoulder Roll Defense: Impressive!!

    not sure if Floyd has anything to do with this, but the shoulder roll defense has been on the rise lately.

    but first of all, we know it was a robbery and theres nothing that can change that, but GOT DAMN, Abril put on a clinic and worked Rios on the outside but what i was more impressed with the most was that beautiful shoulder roll from Abril. he completely nullified Rios(an inside fighting specialist) inside attack having him hitting nothing but elbows, shoulders, and gloves all night long and frustrated him. he was very effective. i'd say he even uses it better than Broner.

    gotta give it up to the Slick Cuban. :yep

    Abril was effective, all credit should be given to him. Brandon was lost throwing shot that were hitting air. Sure the few time he landed flush on Abril, the Cuban looked like he really felt the power but El Tigere was still able to out land Bam Bam and protected himself well.

    maybe it was just me but i wasnt that impressed, maybe im just attempting to compare his shoulder roll defence to jrs too much :patsch

    Complete bull****. With one arm? Lol more like he stuck his **** as close to Rios as possible, stuck his leg in between Rios' jock, held on to his arm, which the ref warned him only once. And smothered and held the whole night. It was ugly as ****. If you like that style of boxing then YDKSAB.

    Mayweather would be dissapoint...


    A real slick mother ****er would have walked down rios instead of hugging since he could have, but the excuse is already up... "we hurt out hand in the 4th" - abril... excuses for holding like a *****. non excusable...

    overall, i dont like his style of fighting. i just liked how he defended against Rios' punching on the inside. Rios, an inside fighter, couldnt land almost anything due to the shoulder roll. thats what impressed me.

    Hella impressive. He made Rios looked like a crude amateur!! Rios had nothing for that D and counterpunching. Rios has been matched very carefully, he ain't all that. They will never give Abril a rematch either, shame.....they'll avoid skilled boxers forever, you'll never see Rios vs someone with skills again, it'll be bangers only from now on. Pathetic robbery of the decade, even worse than Lara vs P-Dub or Palacios vs Wlordczyck

    No one ever pegged RIOS as an ELITE though he is an Action fighters, and he should be matched accordingly under main events to excite in the mean time for the main event... good match ups already set...
