    Awww dear, That's so sad.

I remember the night he fought Junior Jones, massive underdog. He wasn't given a chance and by the 11th round he was on his way to shocking the world till Jones found the answers.

Very good fighter who never lived up to his talent, but enjoyable to watch none the less.

    May he RIP.

Sad to hear the only details i have read online was that a man had been arrested on suspicion of his murder.

He was staying in a salvation army hostel very sad it's been a tough year for losing boxers.

Jeffro was it you who said you had Evatt vs Jones and would upload?. If so or if it was someone else and you see this please do. Excellent fight, and a fight that although Richard didn't win, showed how good he was. Be nice touch, no shame in losing to likes of JJ.

edit: very sad indeed. RIP Evatt. It's terrible how someone like him can end up in a Hillfields Sally Army :(

Knew him at school and he was a world-class dickhead, which carried on into adulthood. There are people much more deserving of sympathy.

That said, I'm not a complete knob, RIP.

Hope you didn't take offense at the Hillfields comment btw, certainly none intended to that or any other part of town, wasn't it Willenhall where he grew up? Its sad that he did fairly well in the sport but ended up how he did. I know he was no angel, but still a sad story.

Hillfields always was a shithole, I grew up in Wood End which is no better. I don't know where Richie grew up but I had a few run-ins with him at school (Caludon Castle) which nearly came to blows more than once. I didn't know he was a boxer at the time or I would have backed down and we might even have got on seeing as I was a Tyson and boxing nut, but I saw him out in pubs when I was older and he was still giving it the big 'un. I'm sorry for his kids though, must be hard for them.

Edit: I posted his demise on Facebook and the general consensus from people at school was that he was a ****, it's not just me.
