Abril's "style" stinks so bad he's fighting for lunch money. Rios will probably get a good money fight next. And for the record. Rios beat Abril in spite of what the ESB collective thinks.

Still waiting to hear from one poster from those little islands if he also thinks Dirrell beat Froch. Funny how he never replied.

So you're suppose to award a fighter that couldnt land anything of note??? Some of you guys are so fickled on these boards at times...Its people like you thats killing boxing...Rios didnt do jack **** in that fight and he's somehow suppose to be rewarded a fight he didnt do anything himself???:patsch

And I'm far from a Abril fan too!

Judges have been leaning towards the fighter willing to make the fight in most cases in recent years. Ask Pacman. Even he got bit by that against Bradley according to most.

:patsch He didnt do anything of note so why reward ineffective agression??? Abril was countering Rios for the most part and Rios was swinging and missing...I'm not buying this bull**** decision one bit. Right and right and wrong is wrong...This is wrong no matter how you guys try to spin...A man was robbed of a victory he rightfully earned and you guys say he should be robbed because you dont like his way of winning??? Come on man!!

If you have the stomach for it, watch the fight again. When Rios was tied up, most of the fight, he was throwing punches to the body and head of Abril. Maybe two of the judges at ringside who could hear the shots thought it was enough? Well, that's how they scored it anyhow. I didn't score the fight when I watched it and refuse to watch it a second time to do so. Rios was just in a FOTY candidate and Abril is working for lunch money and rightfully so in my opinion. Pro boxing is a business about selling tickets or there is no reason for it. Come willing to do your fair share to make a fight or go into something else.

Its still not right to rob somebody of a victory because you think they should fight a ceartain way... I didnt like Abril tactics for the most part myself but I'm not about to sit here and act like he should lose...He did what he had to do to win...Every fighter has had a **** poor performance at one point and time in their career so we should give them a loss because they didnt perform to our expectations??

Pro boxing is also about giving the right man the nod instead of robbing him because of personal vendettas...Its a two way street!

Abril fought like he was perfectly willing to leave it in the hands of the judges so he has no right to complain about the judging. People keep saying Abril's punches were the cleaner and more effective but they did not deter Rios from going inside where he wanted to be. Once inside Abril held. So exactly what did Abril do? I won't give you effective punches. Not gonna happen. The proof is otherwise.
